Pecha Kucha going outdoors Saturday

The first Pecha Kucha Night to be held outdoors is happening this Saturday under the roof of the Stampede’s newest outdoor venue at Pioneer Village, Carriage House.

Everyone is welcome to help celebrate the start of summer in this great location with an interesting lineup of speakers.

The eight-speaker lineup starts at the customary time of 8:20 p.m. and there will be a cash bar and snacks on site. While the family-friendly event is free, a $5 donation is suggested to help offset expenses.

The list of speakers includes:

— D’arci Lawrence, Pioneer Village

— Karen Sudom,  The Business of Autism 

— Denise Wallbank, Volkssport, a personal journey 

— Wes Patterson, How Images Strengthen/Weaken Us; An Exploration into Applications of Practical Kinesiology

— Steve Meldrum, Flipping the coin on death and taxes

— Connie Koch, Meditation

— Jeff Goring, Graffiti in our culture 

— Roxanne Doerksen, Worming our way to better soil 

If the weather is poor, Pecha Kucha willl move to an indoor location at the Stampede Grounds, 

Pecha Kucha features short addresses on a topic of interest with 20 slides, each one to last 20 seconds.
