Medicine Hat News

Craig Ferguson’s career includes stints as a drummer, actor and talk show host.

He also has a fine set of stand-up comedy chops.

That’s what brings him to Medicine Hat tonight.

Ferguson’s Hobo Fabulous Tour stops at the Esplanade for an 8 p.m. show.

He may be best known as either a drummer with some of the worst punk bands in the U.K., Nigel Wick on “The Drew Carey Show” or host of “The Late Late Show.”

But he’s also racked up a Grammy nomination for best comedy album, for his special “Craig Ferguson: Just Being Honest,” and did a 60-show tour in 2016.

Tickets for tonight’s show are available at tixx.ca, by calling 403-502-8777 or in person at the Esplanade box office or the Medicine Hat Mall customer service desk.

The LONELY

The music of Roy Orbison will be celebrated on Sunday at the Esplanade.

The LONELY aims to recreate the sounds and feelings that can be heard on Orbison’s original recordings. They’ll bring hits like “Oh, Pretty Woman,” “Crying” and “Only the Lonely” to life beginning at 7:30 p.m.

As with the Ferguson show, tickets are available at tixx.ca, by calling 403-502-8777 or in person at the Esplanade box office or the Medicine Hat Mall customer service desk.
