Award-winning Saskatchewan journalist Christalee Froese will be in Maple Creek on June 30 to share her journey to joy.

The Maple Creek News columnist says some of her greatest support has come from southwest Saskatchewan.

“It’s been really heartwarming to get book orders, emails and calls as a result of my Rural Roots column in the Maple Creek News and because of the time I spent at the Shaunavon Standard many years ago,” said Froese. “It’s always surprising, and humbling, when I come across someone who connects with the words I’ve written.”

In Froese’s first book, “Journey to Joy,” she vividly brings to life her recovery from depression, chronicling the two years she spent restoring the joy she’d lost. This bold, heart-wrenching memoir will make readers laugh and cry, sometimes at the same time.

Froese will be reading from her book and sharing her journey at Grotto Gardens Country Market on Saturday, June 30, at 1:30 p.m.
