Ticked Off and Tickled Pink, Aug. 15, 2024

Ticked Off

It’s nice that our prime minister is concerned about protecting Canadian jobs, but sadly it’s all jobs in Ontario. Not going to help us out West.

Ticked Off

Where is the beautiful green City of Medicine Hat? It is all very well to conserve water but not to the extent of letting your lawn go to weeds. And to make matters worse, not even mowing the weeds. Where is your pride? When your lawn is dead you will have a permanent weed bed advertising your laziness.

Ticked Off

What exactly is the City of Medicine Hat? It is a group of taxpaying citizens who elect a city council to represent the majority’s visions and employs bureaucrats to work for them. So, who owns the assets?

Ticked Off

To the person who thinks the majority of Walz supporters in the MH News poll must be Trudeau supporters, I think you would be completely wrong. I think they are likely supporters of democracy, which Trump/Vance have made clear they want to do away with and turn the U.S. into a dictatorship. I have been a conservative all my life but sure couldn’t support Trump/Vance.

Ticked Off

A department name change does cost money. There is always changes to the website, to the letterhead, to envelopes, to signage, etc.

Ticked Off

Ever check labels on your goods? Huge majority show, Made in China. How many Made in Canada, do you think the Chinese see? Mr. PP’s bold threat of a 100% tariff on Chinese EV’s is total bologna. China would retaliate on Canadians in so many damaging ways. Yes, a response is required, but be realistic.

Ticked Off

Grimaced at the narrow mind set who felt support in U.S. politics of Harris/Walz over Trump/Vance, is in affect equivalent to Trudeau v. PP. Where is the proof? Exhausted by comments made in sleazy efforts to influence others on one side or other, without any supportive evidence. Entitled to your ‘opinions’ but quit presuming you know facts or speak for the rest of us.

Ticked Off

How can we still be “the forgotten corner” when the premier is our MLA? Maybe it is time to reconsider the UCP as our representative, if we are still forgotten. Smith didn’t even have to campaign here to get elected. How much time has she really spent in the Medicine Hat area even after being elected? Does she really know us?

Ticked Off

Suggesting that local poll results favouring a Democrat in U.S. election is evidence of support for Justin Trudeau is just ridiculous. First, we are talking about two distinctly different systems of government. Second, Walz’s service record is clearly above and beyond Vance’s. To see the difference between the two men has absolutely nothing to do with Trudeau.

Tickled Pink

That Ron Aitkens has been caught. The fraudster/phoney preacher better receive the maximum sentence.

Tickled Pink

To know what local charities have cost us “millions to build,” and whose financial statements are not available for public scrutiny? And whose programs are not available with a little research? Would be nice if complainers in TO/TP would provide more specific detail in their rants.

Ticked Off

The water main issue in Calgary had nothing to do with water shortage. It was an infrastructure breakdown that another dam would not have prevented.

Ticked Off

That someone thinks choosing Tim Walz over Vance is a vote for Trudeau. Wrong. It is a vote for democracy, not a vote for extreme weirdness.

Tickled Pink

With the awesome care my husband received at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital. He was treated royally and in an expedient manner at Triage and in Emergency. He was then admitted to 4 West and their amazing staff where, once again, we were impressed. The food was also great, contrary to popular belief. After a five-day stay we totally disagree with anyone who complains about questionable care.

Tickled Pink

If the cognitive tests for seniors over 80, for a driver’s medical, were given to everyone every five years. I know many under 80s who could not pass. Then think of the reduction in traffic.

Ticked Off

With rail workers. When you get a job that declares a transfer may happen, don’t call it “tearing families apart.” You signed up for it, accept it. Just imagine what armed forces members go through. And if you do a work stoppage to protest, maybe the owners should do a wage stoppage. Seems fair.

Ticked Off

I can make up my mind over just about anything in minutes or hours. Why does it take our legal system months and months? I thought they were intelligent problem solvers. Apparently not.

Tickled Pink

My dog keeps me from slapping the stupid out of people. In my opinion, if you don’t like dogs you’re probably a horrible person who does terrible things. (Editor’s note: Too bad your dog doesn’t focus on your judgmentalism.)

Tickled Pink

I would be if I could find out why there was a solar light on the trail system behind East Glen Drive and now it’s disappeared.

Tickled Pink

I will be thrilled if Clark wins the judicial review and is back where she belongs.

Tickled Pink

I would be if council and city manager have to pay back legal fees they spent with taxpayer dollars. The mayor paid her legal bills, why can’t you?

Ticked Off

Why are there endless food recalls? All the more reason to shop local. Somebody’s not doing their job.

Tickled Pink

If the mayor and the whole city council would resign. They are all non effective and this sad comedy needs to end, and we need to start over.

Ticked Off

Time for Canada’s Sunniest City to have outdoor pools that aren’t 60-year-old rectangles. Something new and fun is needed.

Ticked Off

Totally ticked at the smear campaign going on in Redcliff. You know who you are, and you won’t get my vote.

Tickled Pink

At the clean washrooms on the bike and walking trail to Police Point. Thank you, city workers.
