Tickled Pink At the great job the workers do at the food court at the mall of keeping it clean. Ticked Off Some neighbours don’t know the concept of sharing parking; yes it is public parking but everyone has one or two places to park out front. Those who have three or more vehicles take up parking from others. Be kind to your neighbours. Ticked Off That the city quit using the DoubleMap app for transit. It was an awesome app and 10 times better than the one they are currently using. Please bring back the DoubleMap app. Ticked Off I am tired of all those left wings that have no regard for spending within our means. Instead, just keep wanting to tax everyone more. I don’t like the term right wing because I believe in health care, education and infrastructure, but I also believe we can be fiscally responsible and do this. Tickled Pink That 73% of those who cast votes in the byelection did not vote for the Alberta NDP, despite the spin suggesting this party achieved some measure of success. However, what’s truly tragic is the pathetic voter turnout with only 12,700 of 34,500 choosing to participate. Voter apathy is the real modern-day scourge across North America. Tickled Pink Congratulations to Gwendoline Dirk and Barry Morishita and their teams for putting themselves out there and providing Brooks-Medicine Hatters and indeed all Albertans a glimmer of hope toward ending the UCP madness. Tickled Pink Now that Danielle Smith has become the MLA for Brooks-Medicine Hat, I can’t wait for next week’s ground turning ceremony for the Highway 3 widening from Medicine Hat to Burdett. Promise made, promise kept. Right? Hmmmm. Ticked Off Before the byelection results even started coming in, candidates were already declaring that they had won, because they were going to receive votes. Is this the product of the ‘everyone wins’ philosophy in school vesting itself? Ticked Off Wind farm near Hilda, what an eye sore and a money pit for our government. Tickled Pink Excited about having the premier of Alberta representing our humble riding. Congrats, Danielle! Ticked Off The City of Medicine Hat should be one constituency having a member who represents the city. All areas that pay taxes to the City of Medicine Hat should be included. Splitting Medicine Hat in redistribution was a very bad idea. Ticked Off Just because she is premier doesn’t mean she will do anything for this area. We had UCP representation for years here and just like Frey, Smith will do nothing. Just a lot of talk. Ticked Off It is sad to see the number of belly aches that show up in this column. If you have a neighbourhood problem, please resolve it face to face. If that doesn’t work call the MHPS. Stop boring us with your fine ‘whines.’ Tickled Pink By Mr. Lube donating oil changes to the military. That is wonderful to see as it seems so few really honour or even realize the great sacrifice so many of them made, for our freedom. Thank you. Ticked Off A couple of years ago, I thought getting a tattoo would help me deal with my mid-life crisis. It didn’t. Now I’m two years older and have to look at this stupid tattoo every day. (Editor’s note: They can remove those now. Just ask Pete Davidson.) Ticked Off Danielle Smith won the byelection, but the poll-by-poll results should be troubling for the UCP under her leadership. It appears another unfolding scenario, a win for Rachel Notley and the NDP. This must be what is meant by Smith outside the box. Ticked Off I couldn’t believe how many people on the north side of the river want to have more government, more taxes, more unions and want to give up more of your rights. Tickled Pink I just had the best quesadilla I have ever eaten, on the south end of town; they didn’t fill it with exotic ingredients no one has ever heard of, it was freshly made in front of me within minutes, it didn’t cost $25 and they didn’t add on an 18% tip for themselves. There are still a few good places left to eat. Tickled Pink That Chrystia Freeland showed the Liberals’ true colors when she said her family would cut back on Disney Plus to fight inflation. And if you’re renting from a landlord, when things go wrong, they fix. Renting from the bank and you’re responsible for all repairs.
