9/11 Memorial Museum in New York City
Beneath the reflecting pool of the North Tower of the former World Trade Center, the 9/11 Memorial Museum in New York City recounts the terror attacks that took place here in 1993 and 2001. With the 9/11 Memorial Plaza above outlining the footprint of the towers, the museum itself is a step inside the foundation and many surviving fragments of the complex. A visit to the National September 11 Memorial & Museum is truly a sobering and reflective experience. It’s emotional and humanizing, and offers a glimpse into a narrative that is still very much evolving and impacting the world we live in today. Twin Tower tridents. The slurry wall that surrounds the foundations of the WTC.The remains of the antenna mast that stood atop 1 WTC.Vesey Street stair remnant: The “Survivors’ Stairs”“The Last Column”This is a section of steel from the North Tower of the World Trade Center where Flight 11 impacted the building between the 93rd and 99th floors.
