Applauding writer’s commitment to finding the truth

By Letter to the Editor on January 9, 2020.

I have appreciated the Laying It Out columns by Scott Schmidt in recent issues of the Medicine Hat News. In the most recent, on Jan. 4, I am thankful for his commitment to finding the truth. It seems he has done due diligence in trying to find the truth and share it. We need this kind of reporting and commenting more than ever now.

With regards to budget cuts for health and education, I am very concerned. I admit I’m not good with budget management but I know that if per-capita spending on health care is decreased, there would have to be a budget cut.

I hope to see more from Schmidt.

Schmidt is just another pretentious, agree with me or you are stupid, left-wing fop. He doesn’t possess an ounce of objectivity, he has his predetermined conclusions then writes to support those conclusions.

Okay, boomer. I am appalled that you have resorted to name-calling and childish remarks without presenting a sound, articulate argument. To disagree is fine, but I challenge you to compose something worthy of debate.

Surely your mother taught you to be polite, respectful, and courteous?

BTW, fabulous, intelligent response, Evelyn.

Lawyers taught me years ago that these ignorant seniors hurl their sarcastic comments at those of us who don’t share their state of ignorance because they have absolutely nothing to prove that we are wrong and they are right. When they go around bragging about all the wonderful things Ralph Klein did for us ask them to give you a list of all these wonderful things and watch the stupid look on their faces. I have used it many times and the lawyers are right they can’t come up with anything other than he paid off the debt, and he did, however as Ed Stelmach pointed out that while he was doing so he created a worse mess by creating a $42 billion infrastructure deficit.. It was this deficit Notley was trying to fix by spending money when Kenney convinced these ignorant Albertans it was going to financially destroy us. Those of us know that the debt she was creating could have been easily repaid when she was able to get the taxes and royalties back up to the Lougheed levels like she was planning on doing.

IMPALA…
It’s simple if you do not agree with what Scott has been saying. Put your numbers together and challenge him. I believe he even said for anyone to do just that.
But one thing, DON’T FORGET TO SIGN YOUR NAME TO IT.

This is for you… “Le bugie hanno le gambe corteā€, Italian proverb.
