Some truck drivers of today cause dangerous situations

By Letter to the Editor on October 9, 2019.

Before I got sick I used to drive a commercial truck and I can say the stuff I’ve witnessed by new truck drivers on the road would make anybody grip the steering wheel a little tighter and wonder if today is the day.

I’ve had trucks pass me on double lines, at uncontrolled rail crossings, on blind curves, in construction zones and even through single-lane intersections.

Even in front of a local coffee shop here in Redcliff they park “left of centre” (highly illegal) with their lights on blinding everyone driving towards them. Not only are they left of centre, and they are also parked in a no-parking zone.

I’ve seen them parked there all night long sleeping. The crazy part is there are two truck stops less than a mile away.

ThereÕs no such thing as the “professional driver” anymore.
