VANCOUVER — The Vancouver Whitecaps have extended backup goalkeeper Isaac Boehmer.

The ‘Caps announced the move Monday, saying the new contract runs through 2027 with a club option for 2028.

Boehmer, 24, has made 18 appearances across all competitions since joining the Major League Soccer team in 2020.

He started all 10 of Vancouver’s Canadian Championship games in 2024 and 2025, helping the team win titles both years.

Boehmer also made two starts in the CONCACAF Champions Cup this season as the Whitecaps earned a spot in the final before falling to Cruz Azul.

The product of Okanagan Falls, B.C., joined the Whitecaps Academy in 2018 and joined the development team in 2020 before being loaned to Canadian Premier League side Pacific FC in 2021.

“As a product of our academy and British Columbia, it is clear that Isaac takes great pride in playing for this club,” Whitecaps sporting director Axel Schuster said in a release.

“He has continued to develop since joining our club and signing his first pro contract back in 2020. Over the past two years, he has played a key role in several important cup matches. We look forward to seeing him continue to progress.”
