Medicine Hat’s cheerleading teams began their competitive season in Lethbridge.
Both the Stingerz and Ultimate Cheer Fusion clubs registered high marks, though none higher than the Stingerz’ Killer Beez open team that won the grand champion banner for their level with what the club described as “an electric performance.”
Four other Beez teams earned banners. The Queen Beez senior Level 3 team won their grand champion banner with no deductions. The Ivy Beez were third in senior Level 1. The Bumblez youth team was second in their division for 5- to 11-year-olds while the 5- and 6-year-old Royal Beez were first in theirs.
As for UCF, their five teams also had top-three results. Their 15-member Flash junior team was third. The 10-member Shockwave junior co-ed team had no deductions and took second in another division. Blast’s 10 8- to 11-year-olds was first with no deductions. The 6- and 7-year-olds in Glimmer were second, while the youngest Sparkle team tied for first with no deductions as well.
