Juniors go 5-0 in Kindersley

Seemingly always in the running for a national title, Medicine Hat’s junior AAA all-star baseball team has started exactly how you’d expect them to.

The squad went 5-0 at a tournament in Kindersley this past weekend, wrapping up the title with a 5-2 win over the host Royals Sunday afternoon.

Other wins were 13-2 over the Saskatoon Giants, 15-1 over Saskatoon’s Blue Jay Bandits, 13-1 over the Saskatoon Braves and 11-0 over the same Royals they met in the final.

Next up is a tournament in Kalispell, then one in Cranbrook before Medicine Hat hosts its own tournament in July. Nationals, should they qualify, are July 28-Aug. 5 in Lethbridge.
