Solid weekend at provincials for Twist and Flip

It was a weekend of firsts in more ways than one for a group of local gymnasts.

The Twist and Flips gymnastic group sent a number of athletes to Red Deer, coming away with 14 medals and three all-around placings.

Luke Lydon took third on the floor, second on the pommel horse, third on the vault, first on the high bar and fourth place all around.

Tyler Ackrill took silver on the floor, bronze on pommel horse, a gold in high bar and fourth place in all around.

Nate Vossler, Christopher Gendron, Benson Hyde, Jake O’Reilley all attended their first provincials, with Twist and Flip owner adding that the group showed fantastically.

Coen Ryckman had his best performance of the year in his first ever Elite 3 Provincial Championships.

Rhys Evan also competed in his first provincials as a level-three gymnast.
