Smash take provincial spot in OT

Another Medicine Hat Ringette team is off to provincials.

The Smash open B team won 6-5 in overtime against the Central Alberta Sting this past weekend in Rockyford, earning them a spot in this weekend’s championships.

Kayty Smith had two goals while Hope Boychuk, Jody Lamb, Michelle Plante and Mahala Boychuk got the others. Jessica Berger’s three assists and Amy Mudri’s goaltending were key components of the playdown victory as well.

Provincials start Friday in Calgary.
