Sage Watson has made her first ever world championship final.

The Seven Persons product was second in her 400 metre hurdles semifinal heat at London, England Tuesday, finishing in 55.05 seconds. The top two in each of three heats plus two others advanced to Thursday’s final.

“Made it to the Final!!!!” she wrote on Twitter following the IAAF World Championships heat.

Watson nearly beat American Dalilah Muhammad across the finish line, the same woman who was ahead of Watson in Monday’s first qualifying round. Muhammad has run in the 52-second range this year but Watson — whose best time is 54.52 seconds —is surging with confidence into the final.

The 400 hurdles final is slated for 2:35 p.m. Medicine Hat time Thursday.
