Everything went right for the K of C Knights as they began a doubleheader Friday night against the Fort Macleod Royals.

Stingy defence, timely hitting and excellent pitching combined for a 9-2 win, the team’s third in a row.

Starting pitcher Easton Brooks only gave up one hit and struck out six in four innings, then Ethan Boutkan went the last three only allowing two more hits. In the field, the Knights didn’t commit an error.

Offensively, Ethan Bartram’s 2-for-4 day with 3 RBI led the way as Medicine Hat made the most of its six hits.

Up 4-2, the hosts added five in their half of the sixth inning, capped by a two-run single from Bartram.

Now 6-3 in conference play, the Knights were finishing off the doubleheader late Friday before heading to Vauxhall Saturday for a doubleheader. They’ll host Lethbridge Tuesday, the twin bill starting at 6 p.m. at Athletic Park.
