Scholly leads Marlins’ haul

In their last big meet before hosting southern provincials, the Alberta Marlin Aquatic Club saw five swimmers come through for six medals at the Cascade International in Calgary.

Ashton Scholly, 12, won silver in the 50 metre backstroke and added a bronze in both the 100 and 200 metre backstroke. He took fourth in 50 freestyle and fifth in 100 free for a tremendous meet.

Kristin Hollingworth, 11, also got to the podium multiple times. She had a silver in the 100 metre butterfly and was third in the 50 fly, while also getting sixth in 100 free and eighth in 100 back.

Also with a medal was 14-year-old Brandt Swaren, third in the 100 breaststroke.

Delrae Vetter, 12, and Emily Schlenker, 15, each made event finals.

AMAC hosts the southern provincial meet at the Family Leisure Centre June 16-18.
