The first ever indoor soccer tournament at the Family Leisure Centre ended with all four home teams scoring victories, and two of them taking silver medals.

The only thing preventing the other two from being on a podium was the fact their games were all labelled as exhibition.

The under-12 and under-14 Rattlers Academy Soccer Club girls teams made it to Sunday’s finals. The under-14 girls fell 3-1 to the Cochrane Wolfpack, while the under-12 team lost a 5-2 decision to Coaldale Tempest.

RASC’s under-14’s opened with a 5-0 win over Swift Current Friday, then fell 4-3 to Cochrane Saturday before overwhelming Chestermere 7-2 to earn a spot in Sunday’s final.

As for the under-12’s, they fell 7-4 to Coaldale Friday but rebounded with wins of 6-1 over Swift Current and 6-2 over Calgary Eclipse Saturday.

In the other division, a combined under-18 and under-16 Rattlers team went 2-0 while the RASC under-18 girls won at least once. The combined team beat Swift Current’s under-16 side 2-0 and 8-3. The under-18 team played Swift’s under-18’s and won 7-1, but no score of the rematch was reported.

Medicine Hat will host a boys tournament Jan. 20-22.
