Medicine Hat’s Misfits extended their unbeaten string in Calgary Ringette League play to a month, outscoring a pair of teams near them in the standings.
On Saturday in Calgary, the under-12 C division team won 10-4 over Calgary Breakaway, then 7-4 over the Bulldogs to improve to 5-2-1. Their only league losses came way back in October.
Jordon Macauly had four assists, Carlie O’Connor had a pair of goals while Abigail Ulmer, Eva Chartrand and Hannah Thompson had strong defensive efforts in front of goalie Linsey Bechtold in the opener.
Thompson and Avery Weisgerber each had a pair of goals against the Bulldogs, with coach Tyler Ulmer also noting contributions by Ruby Allen, Brooklyn Schlenker, Rileigh Tabor and Jordan Weisgerber.
The Misfits host Strathmore Saturday at the Kinplex for a doubleheader starting at 11:30 a.m.
In under-14 A play, Medicine Hat’s Attack also has a 5-2-1 record following a win and a tie this past weekend.
On Sunday they wound up knotted at 4-4 with Calgary Edge, then dominated the Northwest Aces 8-1.
Marin Sinclair had two goals while Kylie Kallenberger and Ashlyn Seale had the others in the tie. Sydney Carlson held the fort in goal.
Kallenberger, Sheridyn Herman and Allison Mason each had a pair of goals in the back half of the doubleheader, with Sinclair and affiliate call-up Preslee Starner getting the others. Devyn Amundson played in net.
Medicine Hat’s Vortex and Blaze are dominating the Calgary league’s under-14 B division, with Blaze 8-0 and Vortex now 8-1 after splitting their road games this past weekend.
Vortex fell 5-2 to Bow View Rush Saturday, but bounced back with a 7-3 win over Calgary’s Hericanes.
Lexi Owen and Jessica Heidel scored in both games, while a pair of goals from Bree Becker helped turn the tide in the win. Sidney Williams and Nolah Reid also scored against the Hericanes.
On Nov. 30 the Monsters beat Chaos 7-3 in local under-10 play.
Sadie Cochrane and Jasmine Holland each had two goals and an assist for the Monsters, while Kalynn Pywell had two goals and Kensington Provost two assists for Chaos.
