BOB HERMAN

1927 ~ 2018
Robert ‘Bob’ Herman passed away while in the peaceful surroundings of the St. Joseph’s Home – Carmel Hospice in Medicine Hat on Saturday, February 3, 2018, at the age of 90 years. Bob’s memory will be cherished in the hearts of his sister, Irene Hayward; sister-in-law, Olive Herman as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Edward and Amelia Herman; two brothers, David and Lawrence as well as a brother-in-law, Norman Hayward. Bob was born in Eagle Butte, Alberta, on May 18, 1927. He received his education in a one room school house at Little Plume, Alberta, later furthering his education and achieving his journeyman’s certification as a Heavy Duty Mechanic. Bob worked the next number of years as a mechanic before returning to the farm in the early 1960’s. He continued to ranch and work the land for the next 50 years before selling the farm and retiring. Family wish to extend their heartfelt appreciation to the staff at Meadowlands Retirement Facility for the excellent care provided to Bob over his 10 years there. They also wish to acknowledge the staff at St. Joseph’s Home – Carmel Hospice where Bob received wonderful care during his final days. HAUSAUER

Virginia “Jenny” Hausauer (nee: Ehret) lost her courageous battle with cancer on February 6, 2018 at St. Joseph’s Carmel Hospice, at the age of 67 years. She is survived by Roy Hausauer, her husband of 48 years; her special friend David Dalzell whom she called her adopted son by love not by papers. David’s wife Tammy and Jenny’s chosen grandchildren Kaitlin and Cassidy; her mother Florence “Flo” Ehret Severin (Norman Washburn), three sisters Delphine “Del” Ehret Zizek, Sandra Ehret, and Michele Ehret (Roy Finlay); two brothers Lesley (Shelley) Ehret and Todd (Andrea) Ehret as well as one brother-in-law Alvin (Linda) Hausauer and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her father Emil Ehret, stepfather Walter Severin and two brothers-in-law Vern Hausauer and Stan Zizek. Virginia was born in Medicine Hat and grew up on the family farm N.W. of Hilda, Alberta. She took her schooling in Hilda to grade 10 then the family moved to Medicine Hat in 1967 and she completed grades 11 and 12 graduating from Crescent Heights High School in 1969. She married Roy in July of 1969 and they made their home on the Hausauer family farm north of Irvine. They retired from farming in 2003, but continued to live there as they enjoyed country life. Jenny loved life, especially kittens, puppies and horses. She enjoyed summer camping to David’s, Todd’s, the Kimberly Accordion Festival and the Great Canadian Barn Dance for musical festivals. She really liked getting away for the winter especially to Hawaii, Arizona and Southern California. She also enjoyed her yearly get aways with her sisters to various events such as Blue Jay’s games, country music concerts and shopping trips. Jenny’s family would like to extend their sincere thanks to the staff at St. Joseph’s Hospice for their hard work, caring manner and compassion which will not be forgotten. The funeral service will be held in the PATTISON CHAPEL on Saturday, February 10, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. with Life Celebrant, David Townsend.
