July 24, 1939 – July 28, 2017
It is with profound sadness that the family of Doreen announce her passing. Mom spent almost the last 11 weeks in St. Joseph’s Carmel Hospice living every last moment of her days surrounded by family, special friends and the wonderful staff who grew to know and love her as much as we do! If you had the privilege to know Doreen, you would know the special, loyal, kind, helpful, funny and fun loving lady she was. She will live fondly in our memories. Doreen is survived by her four children, Allan (Gizelle), Linda (Al), David (Emma), and Barry (Bernie); six grandchildren, Shannon and Trenton, Richard and Jesse, and Kaylin and Matthew; four great grandchildren, Sophie and Stockton, and Caleigh and Hayden; one brother, Allan Goguen of Reno, Nevada as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Doreen was grateful to the friends she had at the Teoda, fourth floor, for their kindness and caring. Extra special thanks to Kathy Bruce and Darlene Gizen for their long friendships and laughs over the years and the last several weeks. Special thanks and gratitude to St. Joseph’s staff, you are amazing people, we can’t thank you enough for caring for our mom. As per Doreen’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no formal service.

God Saw You – Unknown
God saw you getting tired
when a cure was not to be.
So He wrapped His arms around you,
And whispered “Come to Me”.
You didn’t deserve what you went through,
So He gave you rest.
God’s garden must be beautiful,
He only takes the best.
And when I saw you sleeping,
So peaceful and free from pain,
I could not wish you back
To suffer that again.
