1928 ~ EMMA GLOCK ~ 2017

Emma Marie Glock of Medicine Hat, beloved wife of the late Edwin Glock, passed away on Tuesday, May 16th, 2017 at the age of 89 years. Emma leaves to cherish her memory one son, Doug (Marie) Glock; one daughter, Beverly (Chris) Adie; five grandchildren, Todd (Krista) Glock, Marcelle Glock, Cameron (ShaiLee) Glock, Lauren (George) Giffen, and Heather Adie (Keith Harder); four great-grandchildren, Aleasha Glock, Amanda Glock (Jeff Casamayor), Taylor Glock, Jesse Glock, and two on the way; two great-great-grandchildren, Emma Gorko and Devin Casamayor; one sister-in-law, Evelyn Hausauer; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Emma was predeceased by her parents; two brothers, Howard (Ella) Stotz and Jack (Rose) Stotz; one sister, Annie (Charles) Prusky; two brothers-in-law, William Glock and James Hausauer; and one sister-in-law, Mary (Franklin) McLeay. Emma was born and raised on the farm north of Irvine. On April 8th, 1945, she married Edwin Glock and they farmed near Irvine until 1972 when they moved to Medicine Hat. Emma was a kind, loving and gentle lady and a great cook who was well known for her sauerkraut strudels. She enjoyed playing cards and bingo and was an accomplished seamstress. Edwin passed away on September 30th, 1979. In 2005, Emma moved into the Cypress View Foundation where she spent the last 12 years making friends with many residents and staff. Every one of Emma’s grandchildren had their own personal bond with her. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at SAAMIS MEMORIAL FUNERAL CHAPEL, #1 Dunmore Road SE, on Thursday from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. The Graveside Service will be held at Hillside Cemetery, 10th Avenue and Gershaw Drive SW, on Friday, May 19th, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. with Life Celebrant Lynett Getz officiating. Those attending the graveside service are asked to meet inside the cemetery gates at 9:45 a.m. A reception will follow at Whiskey Creek, 937 – 13th Street SW. BECK

A lifetime of hard work and good times ended on May 16, 2017 with the passing of Gordon William Beck, at the age of 84 years. His is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Josephine; four children, Brent (Lori) Beck, Randy (Lois) Beck, Wendy Beck and Todd (Shelley) Beck; five grandchildren, Josh (Jennifer) Beck their children Dannica, Jase, Shay; Gena (Cody) Glenn their children Gentry, Porter, Lyla; Matthew Beck (Natalie) his daughter Lily; Hayden Beck (Calee); Hillary (Chris) Hutton; one brother Harvey (Delores) Beck; one sister Joyce (Grant) Kirbyson and special niece Donna Mae (Richard) Weisgerber, as well as several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. Gordon was born on May 12, 1933 in Schuler and married Josephine Haas in 1954. He was involved in many businesses throughout the years including; farming, operating school buses, rural electrification, hardware and lumber yard, and lastly the farm implement business. Over the years Gordon was a leader in the Schuler community and a passionate volunteer serving on the executive of the Schuler Community Association, the Water Co-op, Curling Rink Board, and many other committees for over 22 years. In 1979, Gordon and Josephine moved to Medicine Hat and purchased Hat Farm Supply with Gordon’s brother and brother-in-law. The dealership enjoyed great success having been named the largest grossing dealership in North America for two consecutive years. In 1989, Gordon sold his business interest and retired for a short time period but soon got bored and started working as an adjuster for AFSC for 15 years. During this time, Gordon and Josephine travelled south to Yuma, Arizona for over 17 winter seasons. This was some of the most enjoyable carefree time in his life. After retiring from AFSC, Gordon returned to the family farm to work with his son Brent and grandson Josh. He was passionate about passing his skills and knowledge to the next generation. Family was always very important to Gordon– especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. The purchase of the cabin at Elkwater and the times spent at the farm allowed many fun times for all to learn and enjoy. The funeral service will be held in the PATTISON CHAPEL on Saturday, May 20, 2017 at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. David Pollard officiating. A private interment will follow in the Hillside Cemetery.
