1931 ~ FOREMAN ~ 2016

Jennie "Janet" Foreman, beloved wife of Douglas Foreman of Medicine Hat, passed away on Friday, December 9th, 2016 at the age of 85 years. Jennie also leaves to cherish her memory two daughters, Corrine McLeod and Victoria Morrison; six grandchildren, Kurt Gergatz (Lana), Kevin Gergatz, Keith Gergatz, Lonnie McLeod (Estelle), Donald Zest (Dayne) and Shannon Zest (Luc); six great-grandchildren, Aidan Gergatz, Tristan Bouillon, Zoe Bouillon, Donald Zest Jr., Zackery and Aysha; and two brothers, Walter (Gloria) Urbanowich and Peter Urbanowich. Jennie was the wife of a master lawn mower mechanic. A Memorial Service for Jennie will take place in the Spring of 2017 in Winnipeg, Manitoba. ALVIN JOSEPH ERESMAN

1940 – 2016
Alvin Joseph Eresman of Medicine Hat, passed away on Thursday, December 8, 2016, at the age of 76 years. Alvin leaves to cherish his memory, Shirley Eresman, beloved wife of 55 years, and his daughter, Sherree Eresman. He is also survived by his sisters, Mary Ternes, Rose (Frank) Lanz, and Tillie Schafer (Don Schwengler); brothers, Tony Eresman and Rick (Wanda) Eresman as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Alvin was predeceased by his son, Cory James Eresman on January 23, 1981; his parents, George and Katherinea Eresman; sister, Anne (Louie)Miller; brother, Garry (Pauline) Eresman; and brothers-in-law, Rudy Ternes and Leo Schafer. Alvin and Shirley were married on April 8, 1961. Alvin worked at Dominion Glass, moving to the farm at Fox Valley in 1963. He farmed prior to and after moving back to Medicine Hat in 1983. Alvin was proud to be a long-standing member of the Moose Lodge and later on, the Vintage Vehicles Club. He enjoyed restoring his 1967 Pontiac Parisienne, wood working, and other hobbies. Alvin also enjoyed visiting with neighbours and friends over the years and was always willing to lend a helping hand to others. The celebration of Alvin’s life will be held in the PATTISON CHAPEL on Wednesday, Decemeber 14, 2016 at 1:30 p.m. with Life Celebrant, David Townsend. All who knew him are invited to celebrate with us. If friends so desire, Alvin would be honoured by donations made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, Medicine Hat and District Branch 102 73 7th Street SE, Medicine Hat. Josephine Mastel of Medicine Hat passed away on Monday, December 12, 2016, at the age of 81years, beloved wife of the late Andrew Mastel. Those who wish to pay their respects may do so at the PATTISON FUNERAL HOME on Thursday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m or at the church on Friday from 12:00 noon to 12:55 p.m. Family and friends will gather for prayers in the PATTISON CHAPEL on Thursday evening at 7:00 p.m. The funeral mass will be celebrated in Holy Family Parish (1451 Strachan Road SE) on Friday, December 16, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. with Fr. 1944 – 2016
It is with deep sorrow that the family of Ronald Wayne Pekush, beloved husband of Jean Pekush, announce his passing at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital on Thursday, December 8, 2016, at the age of 72 years. Ron was born on February 20, 1944, in the Regina General Hospital. When he was four years old, his mother, Doris, died. His father, John, then married Leona Smith and together they raised four sons. When Ron worked at the Grey Nuns’ Hospital in Regina, he met Jean who was a second year nursing student. For the next three years, he was persistent and they married in 1968. Over their 48 years of marriage, they enjoyed six dogs, five of which were Havanese. They enjoyed many adventures travelling throughout Canada sharing their love for camping, visiting, cooking and just being at home. Ron was a private pilot instructor, Senior Captain Firefighter and always carried a second job even after his retirement. He will be forever remembered in the hearts of his loving wife, Jean; brothers, Jack (Jean) of Saskatoon, Bryan Smith of Powell River, Dennis (Dolores) of White City; sister-in-law, Aleda (Evan) and family as well as many kind neighbours and friends. Ron was predeceased by his mother, father, step-mother, niece, Sheryl and in-laws, Bill (Mary) Loveless. Ron’s life will be celebrated at Cook Southland Funeral Chapel, 901 – 13 Street S.W., Medicine Hat on Wednesday, December 14, 2016, at 1:00 p.m. with Life Celebrant Gerry Getz officiating.
