LAIT

Sadly the family of Timothy “Tim” Allan Lait announce Tim’s passing on Thursday, July 7, 2016, at the age of 45 years. Our Tim leaves to cherish his memory his mum and dad Catherine (Gary) Baumback of Medicine Hat; beloved sister, Leslie Lait (David Lesmeister) of Medicine Hat; a half brother Tyler Lait of Edmonton; and father James (Mary) Lait of Edmonton; his aunt June Edmonds her son Brad and family; two uncles, Ian (Char) Walkington and their son Jono; Larry (Edna) Lait and family and his dear Granny Agnes Walkington. He was predeceased by , one sister Jennifer Lait in 1977, his grandad Les Walkington and uncle Colin Walkington. At Tim’s request no formal funeral service will be held. His family would like to invite you to celebrate his life at the Royal Canadian Legion, 702 – 2 St. SE on Tuesday, July 12, 2016 between 1:00 and 3:00 p.m. Everyone is welcome. Sister Louise, SCSL, of Calgary, Alberta, passed away on Friday, July 8, 2016 at the age of 79 years.
Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers and Tributes at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Chapel of the Bells, 2720 Centre Street North) on Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at 7:00 p.m.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church (640 – 19th Avenue N.W.) on Wednesday, July 13, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. Graveside Service to follow at Queen’s Park Cemetery. Condolences may be forwarded through http://www.mcinnisandholloway.com.

WOELFLE

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Emil Woelfle on July 5, 2016, at the age of 82 years. He was surrounded by his loving family as he joined our Lord. Emil is survived by his devoted wife Gertrud of almost 60 years, and their four children, son Roland and Christine (Alexandra and Rachel), son Arnold and Margaret (Jessica and fiancé Drew, Joshua, Derek and wife Lauren), daughter Ingrid and Bill Hertz (Shandel and husband Marc, daughter Camilla) and son Alvin and Esther (Eliana and Bethany). He is also survived by two brothers, Ernst and Egon and a twin sister, Elfriede who all reside in Germany. Emil was predeceased by his parents, Daniel and Rebecca Woelfle, brother Emmanuel Woelfle and sister Erna Necker. Emil was born April 4, 1934, in Kulm, Bessarabia. Together Emil and Gertrud immigrated to Canada and were married March 16, 1957 at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Medicine Hat. Emil was an excellent chef at the Cypress Club in Medicine Hat for 38 years and was well known for his famous prime rib roast and the Emil burger. He enjoyed singing in the church choir and the German Harmony Club. Emil had an excellent sense of humor and enjoyed telling stories. Emil and Gertrud loved to have large family and friend gatherings and Emil always found time for his grandchildren. He was a well respected deacon, councilman at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church where you could find him reading German Bible passages Sunday mornings. Emil will be missed, always loved and remembered by his family and friends. Those who wish to pay their respects may do so at the Church on Tuesday from 12:30 – 1:30 p.m. The funeral service will be held in St. Peter Lutheran Church (758 8th Street SE) on Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at 1:30 p.m. with Pastor Shane Hein officiating. Interment will follow in the Hillside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, as an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to the Good Samaritan Society, (please indicate “Day Program” ) c/o 550 Spruce Way SE, Medicine Hat, AB T1B 4P1.
