.1927 ~ MUTTON ~ 2015
Norman Leland “Lee” Mutton, beloved husband of Agnes Mutton of Medicine Hat, passed away on Saturday, January 10th, 2015 at the age of 88 years. Lee also leaves to cherish his memory his children, Rhonda (Emile) St. Amand of Lethbridge, Rodney (Candace) of Bienfait, Saskatchewan, and Lana (Rodney) Ludwar of Claybank, Saskatchewan; ten grandchildren, Brennan (Aubree), Morgan (Randi Ramage), Destiny, Roxann, Tyce, Slade, Blaze, Brandi (fiancé Ben), Brittany and Clay; two great- grandchildren, Mila and Max; one brother, Clifton (June) Mutton; one sister, Edna Borus; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Lee was predeceased by his parents, Norman and Marion Mutton. Lee was born in Hearne, Saskatchewan on January 3rd, 1927 where he was raised and attended Amherst School. He moved to the BC coast to work in the logging industry and from 1946 to 1954 was back and forth between the farm in Saskatchewan and his work in BC. Lee met Agnes at a New Year’s dance in 1955 and they were married on October 25th, 1958 residing on the farm at Hearne for 25 years. They then spent 10 years in Moose Jaw before moving to Medicine Hat where they have remained for the last 20 years. Lee enjoyed playing cards, golfing at Cottonwood, fishing and curling. He especially loved the company of his family and friends and will be lovingly remembered by all. Vigil Rites (Prayers) will be said at SAAMIS MEMORIAL FUNERAL CHAPEL, #1 Dunmore Road SE, on Wednesday, January 14th, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at HOLY FAMILY PARISH, 1451 Strachan Road SE, on Thursday, January 15th, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. with Father Albert Sayson, Celebrant. Larry Maser, beloved companion and best friend of Deb Earl of Redcliff, passed away on Saturday, January 10th, 2015 at the age of 70 years. Larry leaves to cherish his memory his children, Rhonda (Bill) Husty and Terry (Linda) Maser; four grandchildren, Logan Mattson, Robyn Mattson, John Maser and Emily Maser; one sister, Marion Stickel; three sisters-in-law, Bev (Doug) Huckle, Val Gaudet and her son, Tyler and Frances Maser; father-in-law, Gerry Gaudet; Deb’s family, Denise (Bryce) Kultgen and her children, Brett, Camryn and Madelyn; Jennifer Earl and Calvin (Alicia) Earl and their children, Layton and Kinley; Deb’s mom, Phyllis Stodolka; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Larry was predeceased by his wife, Carol; his parents, John and Elizabeth Maser; two brothers, Chris (Gloria) Maser and Allan Maser; and four sisters, Gladys (Howard) Maser, Laurine (Albert) Scherer, Jean (Charlie) Bechtold and Edna (Oliver) Nikiel. Larry was born in Medicine Hat and raised in Irvine. He moved to Medicine Hat as a young man and worked numerous jobs including Ogilvie Mills. Larry then took employment with Maser’s Lumber for 35 years until its closing and then moved to Kulpe Lumber until his retirement. He married Carol Gaudet on March 5th, 1966 and together they raised their family in Redcliff. Family meant so very much to Larry. His grandkids meant everything to him and he was so proud of each one of them. Spending time with his family camping and taking yearly trips to Vancouver were special times for Larry. Woodworking and gardening were his passions. After Carol’s passing in 2004 he was blessed with the companionship and care when he met Deb Earl. This expanded his family and he loved them all. With loving memory our family wishes to announce the passing of our wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and dear friend, Janet “Marlene” Squire on January 6th, 2015. Marlene is survived by her husband, Arthur “Jack” Squire; a daughter, Yvonne (Greg) Severin, and their children, Nathan Severin (fiancé, Amber Van Der Kooy) and Amber Severin (fiancé, Evan MacLean); a son, Curtis (Tracey) Squire, and their children, Madison and Julia Squire; and two great-grandchildren, Austin and Kayden Severin. She is also survived by four siblings: Jerry (Marlene) Koch and their children; Betty (Francis) Bosch and their children; Joyce (Ron) Bolen and their children/step children; and Kalvin (Judith) Koch and their children; as well as many lifelong friends and extended family. Marlene was predeceased by her parents, William and Adelia Koch; sister, Doris Koch; sister, Carol Brigden; as well as her infant children, Janet Yvette, Marlene Lynette and Shaun Sheldon Squire. Marlene participated in many activities throughout her life including various game and card nights. She was the Avon Lady, postmaster and enjoyed hairdressing for her friends. She worked at TimHorton’s, attended the Schuler Church of God, and volunteered at The Post for Canadian Mental Health for many years. Over the last year, both Marlene and Jack enjoyed the Senior 60+ Club. She will be dearly missed – her family and friends will always hold dear her gracious soul, warm heart, and mischievous smile. It is with great sadness, we wish to announce the passing of our beloved Brother, Killian (Kelly) Folk, after a courageous battle with cancer, on Sunday, January 11, 2015 in Victoria, BC.
Kelly was born in Leader, Saskatchewan on February 19, 1943 to Balzer (Walter) and Frances Folk.
Raised on the family farm south of Richmound, Saskatchewan, far from any schools, the family decided to move to Medicine Hat where an education would be more attainable. Once in Medicine Hat he was enrolled at St. Mary’s and later McCoy Hight where he and his classmates were the first class to graduate after its opening. He later received a degree in Fine Arts from the University of Victoria.
At the age of 19, Kelly joined the R.C.M.P. completing his training at the police academy in Regina, Saskatchewan. During his 4 year career he achieved the rank of Superintendent and was stationed throughout Canada and the Territories until his final posting in Victoria, B.C. While there he was assigned as head of security for the 15th Commonwealth Games in 1994 and later the Aide to the Lt. Governor of BC for 6 years.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 51 years, Claudia and their two daughters Marina Rosta and Children and Kellianne (Phil) Stiller and their children. He also leaves behind one sister, Shirley (Dave) Hart and children; Terry (Don) Eftoda; Dixie (Chris); and Cindy Packet and their children. As well one brother, Garry (Marion) Folk and their children, Shaun, Ryan, Kaylnn and Rachel Folk. One Aunt, Julia (Bill) Helman and their children.
For those who knew Kelly, he will always be remembered for his deep faith and knowledge of the Bible and his quiet, gentle demeanor. He will truly be missed.
A private burial will be held in Victoria in the days to come with a celebration of his life in the spring. For those wishing to offer condolences please just say a prayer in your hearts.

Marjory Haidar, currently of Calgary, passed away peacefully on January 10, 2015 at the age of 84 years.
Marjory was born in Medicine Hat on December 11, 1930 and moved to Calgary in 1966, where she resided until her death. Following high school Marjory entered nurses training at the Royal Jubilee Hospital in Victoria. She later received training as a public health nurse and worked for Calgary Health Services from 1966 to 1986 when she retired. Marjory and Ghulam enjoyed years of travelling including many cruises to distant ports.
She was predeceased by her husband Ghulam in 2013. She leaves behind her daughter Rifat (Khalid) Bashir and three grandchildren (Noreen, Celine and Shawn) of Calgary; her sister Helen (William) Thomson of Austin, Texas; her brother Glenn (Joyce) Morrison of Lethbridge; and seven dearly loved nieces and nephews and their families. Marjory was also predeceased by her parents Dr. J. Douglas and Mrs. Phyllis Morrison of Medicine Hat in 1970 and 1971.
Memorial Services will be held at St. James Anglican Church (6351 Ranchview Drive N.W. Leslie “Les” Herbert John Mann of Medicine Hat, passed away on Sunday, January 11, 2015, at the age of 95 years, beloved husband of Ruby Mann who predeceased Les on December 2, 2014. He leaves to cherish the memory his children, Kim Mann (Kimberly Harrison) of Medicine Hat, Bob (Marion) Mann of Edmonton, Pam Mann (Lana Smith) of Victoria and Dennis (Terri) Mann of Medicine Hat; six grandchildren, Sharla Mann, Miranda Mann, David Mann, Russell Mann, Justine Mann and Jade Mann; four great grandchildren, Liberty, Reilly, Quinn and Lily; one sister, Lee Hehr as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Beatrice and Danny Mann. Les was born on January 9, 1920 at West Kennet, Wiltshire, England. He enlisted in the R.A.F. and was posted to Medicine Hat. It was here that he met his future wife Ruby Hehr and they were married on March 17, 1943. Upon his discharge from the Air Force, he moved back to Medicine Hat to rejoin his wife. He worked as a mechanic for Gardner Motors for 25 years, 10 years as the service manager. In 1972, he was employed at BATUS Suffield as a Civilian Mechanic Supervisor, retiring in 1985. Les was a charter member of the BPOE Elks Club, long time member of L.O.O. Moose. #1073 also serving as Past Governor, he was a past member of the Masonic Lodge Chapter 3, and Past President and life member and was very active in the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #17 in Medicine Hat. Clarence Francis Rissling passed away on Friday, January 9, 2015, at the age of 63 years, beloved husband of Irene Rissling of Medicine Hat. He also leaves to cherish his memory four children, Vanessa (Jason) Jurasek (Teagan), Derek (Kristen) Rissling (Ryker and Axel), Mike (Maureen) Chopek (Nolan and Carter), Jaylene (Bobby) Drimes (Chloe, Hunter, Devon and Sky); three brothers, Glen Rissling, Ed (Agatha) Rissling and Tim (Karla) Rissling; two sisters, Maxine (Les) Eiler and Jane Brennan; one sister -in-law, Sharon Rissling; one brother-in-law Leonard (Diane); sisters-in-law Lillian (Mark), Norma (Fred); mother and father-in-law Martha and Steve Vecsei, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Mary and Frank Rissling and one brother Ronald Rissling. Clarence was born in Prelate, Saskatchewan, and the family moved to Medicine Hat when he was 3.He attended St Mary’s and McCoy Junior and High Schools where he met many people that are still his friends today. After finishing school he went to work driving truck. After starting a family, Clarence enjoyed the simple things in life like drinking coffee with his friends, touring around town in his classic cars, and tinkering in the garage. Clarence found happiness by owning and operating his own truck, finding a loving wife and watching his grandchildren grow. JOYCE STOBBS, beloved wife of Clayton Stobbs, of Lethbridge, passed away after a brief hospitalization on January 12, 2015 at the age of 79 years.
Besides her loving husband, Joyce is survived her son Tim (Kathy) of Okotoks, and daughter Jane (Daniel) of Medicine Hat, grandchildren Cameron (Starla), Kelsey (Shawn) and Leah (Mark) and great- grandchildren Liam, Tenley and Emery. She is also survived by her sister Marni and nieces Jennifer and Brooke.
She was predeceased by her parents Genivieve & W.C. Hetherington, as well as many beloved aunts, uncles and cousins.
Joyce was community oriented. Early in her family years, she was involved in many groups her children belonged to as well as community service organizations as a board member. Later, she became involved in “Daughters of the Nile #115” Sakkara (Calgary) & #138 Aquarius (Lake Worth/Palm Beach Gardens, Fl). She was a Past Worthy Matron of Lethbridge Order of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed fundraising for worthy causes to help children and cancer research.
Mom will be sorely missed.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Arnold Vorreiter on December 23, 2014 at the age of 58 years.
