Mr. Herbert (Herb) Conrad Weiss passed away on December 7th, 2014 at the Foothills Hospital in Calgary, Alberta. The Funeral Service was held Saturday at ST. PETER LUTHERAN CHURCH at 1:00 p.m. with Reverend Barrett Scheske officiating. Memorial gifts in Herb’s memory may be made to St. Peter Lutheran Church Memorial Fund or to the charity of one’s choice. Cecilia Beatrice Cooper of Medicine Hat, beloved wife and companion for 53 years of the late John Albert Cooper, passed away on Monday, December 8th, 2014 at the age of 82 years. Cecilia passed away peacefully, attended by her loving children, at St. Joseph’s Hospice in Medicine Hat. Friends and relatives attended an OPEN HOUSE in celebration of Mom’s life held at her residence on Saturday. .This past Tuesday, relatives and friends gathered at Holy Family Parish to celebrate the life of Annie Wolfe. Her life was captured in a video tribute depicting the love for her family. Father Philip Le remarked in the kindness of heart of a woman who enjoyed the company of her family. Gerry sang in tribute to Anne, sharing in praise, “Ave Maria” a song she always treasured. Anne and her late husband, Slim, will be interred together at a later date in Mission, B.C.
Our family chain is broken
And nothing seems the same,
But as God calls us one by one
The chain will like again.

Rosie Manda Scheifele of Medicine Hat, passed away on Wednesday, December 10, 2014, at the age of 88 years, beloved wife of the late Otto Scheifele. She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Sidney (Judy Latosky) Scheifele, Sandra (Wayne) Heidrick and four grandchildren, Tyler Scheifele, B.J. Scheifele, Stacy (Dylan) McGregor and their son, Gavin; and Kelly Heidrick, one sister-in-law, Betty Becker and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Alex and Anita Dewald; her husband, Otto Scheifele; one grandson, Landon Scheifele; her brother, Fred (Irene) Bauer; her sisters, Frieda (Louie) March, Melita (Gust) Krause, Martha (Reinhold) Krause and Lilly (Jack) Leismeister; two daughters-in-law, Wendy Scheifele and Mary Jane Scheifele and her in-laws, Harold Becker and Clara (Max) Murschell.
Mom was born and raised in the Hilda district. She married Otto Scheifele in November 1946, and together they farmed and raised their children. They retired in 1979, and moved to Medicine Hat. Mom was happy that they were able to travel and see more of Canada. She also had more time for her needle work, quilting, camping and visiting with family and friends. Mom enjoyed being the doting grandmother and loved to spend time with her grandchildren. The recent addition of her great-grandson brought her great joy and she always looked forward to seeing him. Mom was quiet by nature and had a strong family bond.
Mom, Grandma, Oma – you will be missed.
Family and friends who wish to pay their respects may do so at the church on Monday from12:30 to 1:25 p.m. The funeral service will be held in the St. Paul Lutheran Church (515 Sprague Way SE) on Monday, December 15, 2014 at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. Ken Edel officiating. Interment will follow in the Hillside Cemetery.
