.1928 ~ BECKER ~ 2014
James Henry Becker, beloved husband of the late Amelia Becker, passed away on Saturday, December 6th, 2014 at the age of 86 years. James leaves to cherish his memory his children, Gladys Becker of Medicine Hat and Roy (Linda) of Bow Island; two grandchildren, Leroy (Neilly) of Bow Island and their sons, Haidyn and Quyn, and Darren of Bow Island and his daughters, Jordyn and Brooklynn and their mother, Amanda; his nieces and nephews; and a special sister-in-law, Maggie (Robert) Johnson of Winnipeg. James was predeceased by his parents, Henry and Christina Becker; two sisters, Leah Rumberg (John and Art), and Emma Anhorn; and one brother, Adam (Annie). James farmed in the Schuler area until moving to Medicine Hat in 1958. He worked at IXL, Medicine Hat School District No. 76 as a groundsman, and also at the Medicine Hat College as a groundsman before retiring. James loved Pioneer’s Blue Jay games and never missed a game. He also enjoyed day trips with his daughter to Stagewest, Rosebud, Foremost, Fort Macleod, and many others. James will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by all those who knew and loved him. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at SAAMIS MEMORIAL FUNERAL CHAPEL, #1 Dunmore Road SE, on Wednesday from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and on Thursday from 12:00 to 12:55 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held at SAAMIS MEMORIAL FUNERAL CHAPEL on Thursday, December 11th, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. with Gary W. Francis “Frank” Heward of Medicine Hat, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, December 6th, 2014 at the age of 71 years. He was with his friends. Frank will be truly missed but well remembered by those at CORE Association and others that came into his life. It is with heavy hearts, the family of our beautiful and much loved Emy announces her passing on December 4th at Foothills Hospital in Calgary, Alberta. Named after her late grandmothers, Emelia Schwean and Mary Thorburn, Emy was born February 24th, 1954 in Herbert, Saskatchewan to Victor and Margaret Schwean. From the moment she entered this world, Emy left an indelible impression on everyone she met. She had an extraordinary personality, one that was larger than life and set her apart from others. Our Emy had an immense presence; she was beautiful, charismatic, confident, humorous, curious, willing to take risks, and never fearful of expressing her opinion. We can’t imagine life without her. Emy remains forever in the hearts of her husband, Brent Craven; her daughter and son-in-law, Nicole and Matt Sims and much loved grandchildren, Tess and Finn; her son, Robbie Lynch; her son and daughter-in-law, Andrew and Lynndy Lynch and darling grandchildren, Madison and Abby; sisters, Dr. Vicki Schwean (Dr. Don Saklofske and nephew, Micah) and Dr. Karen Schwean-Lardner (Dr. Bart Lardner and niece, Jori and nephew, Jesse), and younger brother, Michael Schwean (Tanis and nephews, Jory and Jevin). Emy’s beloved and loyal dog, Ruby, will forever grieve her passing. Also mourning her loss are mother-in-law, Marlene Craven; stepsons, Mikki (Suzie and adored granddaughter Olivia) and Dustin Craven; brothers-in-law, Murray Craven (Sheri and nieces, Haley and Sarah and nephew, Joel) and Greg (nephews, Michael and Daniel). Emy also leaves behind many loving relatives and friends. Emy was predeceased by her parents, Victor and Margaret Schwean; father-in-law, Ron Craven; brother, Jory and first husband, Tim Grisak. It is with deep sorrow the family of Frank & Emily Schmaltz announce the sudden death of their son and brother, Gerard at the age of 55 at Wanham, AB.
Gerard leaves to cherish his memory his mother Emily Schmaltz, siblings: Ray (Gail), Pat (Bill Thomson), Cecil (Betty), Donna (Jim Siroski), Sandi (Lorne Zentner), Cyndy (Darren Lutz), and Gary (Tammie).
He also leaves nieces & nephews: Joel (Shannon) Schmaltz & children Tyler & Luke, Mike (Kathy) Schmaltz & children Sierra & Kaleah, Tim (Lisa) Thomson & children Taylor & Matt, Sheri (Neil Whiting) & children Colton, Wyatt, Dustin & Dallas, Lori Biggs & children Ernie, Josh & Danyka, Annette Smith & children Tristan, Michaela, Cheyanne & Jesse, Cory (Krista) Schmaltz & children Denovah, Cassidy & Breanne, Jason Schmaltz, God Daughter Stacey (Rosaire Belisle), Brett (Brenna) Siroski & children Reagan & Nolan, Kent Zentner, Kristine (Monty Koopman) & children Bronx & Emerson, Lauren (Tyler Murray), Jordan Schmaltz, and God Daughter Cheyanne Schmaltz (Cousin).
