.Yesterday, in the frigid cold weather at Riverside Veteran’s Memorial Park, the warm hearts of the people of Medicine Hat united in honour of those who sacrificed their lives for our nation’s freedom. Calming musical selections resonated from the bands instruments, echoing in the cool air… the trumpet sounded for the Last Post and the distinct sound of the bagpipes engaged our thoughts of the reality of war. Our very freedom was symbolized as a perfect formation of Canadian Geese quietly passed overhead of those gathered and the ceremonial placing of the wreaths at the base of the Cenotaph, commemorated the lives lost. After the service had ended, many in attendance remained focused on the Cenotaph, showing a silent appreciation for the freedoms with which we are blessed. On behalf of our nation, Thank you!
At the going down of the sun,
and in the morning,
we will remember them.
Their Lives Lived…
Their Lives Cherished…
Their Lives Honoured.
