Dr. Allen N. “Doc” Davis of Medicine Hat, beloved husband of the late Adelaide Davis, passed away on Wednesday, September 24th, 2014 at the age of 89 years. Marjorie “Marj” Alice Rempel, beloved wife of Fred Rempel of Medicine Hat, passed away on Saturday, September 27th, 2014 at the age of 88 years. Marj also leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Wendy (Jim) Turner of Medicine Hat; three grandchildren, Jason Turner, Steven (Sandra) Turner, and Justin Turner; seven great-grandchildren, Rebecca, Patrick, Alexander, Matthew, Mark, Katherine, and Eric; one brother, Wayne (Diane) Schapansky; two sisters, Miriam (John) Dyck and Elma (Vic) Klassen; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Violet Rose Ries, beloved wife of Ralph Ries of Medicine Hat, passed away on Monday, September 29th, 2014 at the age of 67 years. Violet also leaves to cherish her memory her children, Gerald Ries, Angela Campbell (Harvey Tams), and Kevin (Trina) Ries; four grandchildren, Breanna and Graham Campbell, and Kayden and Karter Ries; her mother, Mary Miller; one brother, James Miller; five sisters, Adeline Gunderman, Delores (Bob) Maynard, Maggie (Willie) Durrschnabel, Irene Beauchesne, Loretta (Ernie) Lefebvre; two brothers-in-law, Bob Kimmie and Joseph (Nina) Ries; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Violet was predeceased by her father, Matthew; one son, Robin in infancy; and one sister, Jeanette Kimmie. Violet was born on May 18th, 1947 and was raised in the Richmound area. She married Ralph on October 22nd, 1966 and they moved to Leader in 1969. Violet worked at the Leader Hospital for over 30 years until moving to Medicine Hat in 2009, where she made many new friends. She loved flowers and gardening and also enjoyed playing cards, socializing and prayer time at the condo. She was an excellent baker and cook, and was always willing help someone in need. Family was very important to Violet, and her grandchildren held a very special part of her heart. She will be deeply missed by her family and many friends. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at SAAMIS MEMORIAL FUNERAL CHAPEL, #1 Dunmore Road SE, on Wednesday from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. and at HOLY FAMILY PARISH, 1451 Strachan Road SE, on Thursday from 12:30 to 1:25 p.m. Vigil Rites (Prayers) will be said at SAAMIS MEMORIAL FUNERAL CHAPEL on Wednesday, October 1st, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at HOLY FAMILY PARISH on Thursday, October 2nd, 2014 at 1:30 p.m. with Father Philip Le, celebrant. Madeline Barbara Paterson (nee: Rennie) passed away in Saskatoon on September 24, 2014, at the age of 84 years, beloved wife of Rev. David Paterson of Saskatoon, SK. formerly of Medicine Hat. She also leaves to cherish her memory three children, Janice (Richard) Rodda of Saskatoon, Neil (Lori) Paterson of Sydney, Nova Scotia and Sharon (Dale) Vare of Cardston, Alberta; son-in-law Sheldon Moncks; her grandchildren, Jennifer, Mark, Jordan, Logan, Erin and Chris; three brothers, Gerald (Joyce) of Acton, ON, Robert (June) of Galt, Cambridge, ON and Frederick (Johneen) of Cornwall, ON; sisters-in-law, Beatrice Young and Joan Paterson of Edmonton as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Lillian and James Rennie, one brother Donald Rennie and one sister Dorothy Rennie.
