Dirk, Dale Anthony passed away on Saturday, June 14, 2014 at the age of 52. Dale is survived by his wife Sylvia, his siblings, Faron Dirk, Glenda (Ken) Herman, Sandra (Chad) Leskis, nephews and nieces, Kristen, Justin, Clayton (Stephanie), Taija, Colton, Trent, Logan and great niece, Pheonix, step-children Lisa (Kelly) Ziegler, Bryan (Naiomi) Henry, and step-grandchildren Zachary and Aleesha. Dale was predeceased by his parents, Irene and Louis and brother Keith.
Dale was born and raised in the Liebenthal and Leader area, where he attended school. He attended the Medicine Hat College for mechanics. Dale later became a mason apprentice, leaving a legacy of many local landmarks. Dale’s heart was always on the family farm, where he worked until he retired in 2008.
Dale met the love of his life, Sylvia Henry, in 1998 and later married in 2000. Together they shared a love of golfing; Consort, AB in the summer, and winter in Needles, California.
Donations in memory of Dale can be made to the Lung Association.
Prayers will be held on Tuesday, June 17, at 7:00 p.m. The Funeral service will take place on Wednesday, June 18, at 11:00 a.m. in the Liebenthal Sacred Heart Church located at Highway 21 & Highway 321. Binkley’s Funeral Service, Maple Creek and Leader, in charge of arrangements. 306-662-2292

December 24, 1932 ~ June 13, 2014

It is with sadness that the family of Mrs. Dolores Isobel DeJong (nee Paul), announce her peaceful passing while at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital on Friday, June 13, 2014, at the age of 81 years. Dolores was born in Fox Valley, Saskatchewan, and moved with the family to Medicine Hat in 1945. On August 8, 1957, she married the love of her life, Cory DeJong at St. Patrick’s Church. In 1965, Dolores and Cory along with their children moved to Calgary before returning to Medicine Hat in 1987 where she resided until her passing. Dolores worked at Medalta Potteries and Dominion Glass for a number of years. She also did volunteer work and was always a supportive spectator at her children’s and grandchildren’s school and community activities. Dolores was a warm and welcoming person who had a unique sense of humour and will be fondly remembered by those who had the pleasure of knowing her. Dolores is survived by her husband, Cory; children, Cyndi, Corinne (Paul), Carmen (John) and Jason (Shelly); grandchildren, Braden, Anne, Paul, Michelle, Tyler, Jacqueline, Cory, Giles, Easton and Cale; great-grandchildren, Kodi, Kira, Jordan, Cohen and Saxon. Dolores is survived by her sisters, Leona and Shirley (Ray) and many nieces and nephews. Dolores was predeceased by her parents, John and Cordelia as well as her brothers, Bobby, Tom, Rudy and sisters, Lorraine, Irene and Thomias. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so one hour prior to Vigil Prayers and again one hour prior to the Funeral Mass. Carol Ann Kappeler of Medicine Hat passed away on Tuesday, May 20, 2014, at the age of 66 years. She leaves to cherish her memory her son, Gordon Kappeler of Calgary. 1934 – 2014
Ronald “Ron” Francis Carnelli passed away on Saturday, June 14, 2014, at the age of 80 years, beloved husband of Helen Carnelli of Medicine Hat. He also leaves to cherish his memory his sons, Tye (Susan Dmyterko) Carnelli, Dean (Cindy) Carnelli, Danny (Lisa) Carnelli and Darren (Roxanne) Carnelli; five grandchildren, Matthew Carnelli (girlfriend, Kailee Liepert), Morgan Carnelli (girlfriend, Theresa Dirk), Brandy Carnelli, Landon Carnelli and Reece Carnelli as well as several relatives in Italy. He was predeceased by his parents, Mary and Baptiste Carnelli. Ron was born and raised in Medicine Hat. He attended St. Theresa’s Academy, graduated and furthered his education at Montana State University in Bozeman. After two years he decided to come home and help his father in the family business well known as Carnelli and Son Sporting Goods where he made many lasting friendships with his customers. In his earlier years, Ron enjoyed what he had been taught, fishing and hunting. Being a self taught gunsmith, he became one of the best in Southern Alberta. Ron also enjoyed bowling and golfing. Upon retirement in 1999, he was content to be at home and happy to just get up and smell the roses. Being a great story teller, one of Ron’s favourite things was to relate many tales to his grandchildren, whether they were true or not. Until we meet again Ronald – Love Helen.
