.KENNETH ROBERT VAIR
Ken Vair of Medicine Hat passed away on Saturday, May 24, 2014, in the Palliative Care Unit of the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital while surrounded by his wife, children, brothers, sisters and nieces. Ken was born January 2, 1943, in Lethbridge and raised in Medicine Hat. Growing up in a family with 10 brothers and sisters prepared him for the Canadian military. He joined the Provost Corp in 1962, serving at bases in Canada and as part of the First U.N. Peace Keeping Mission to Cyprus. In 1965, he married Gloria Obrigewitch and in 1967, they returned to Medicine Hat to stay and start their family. He was employed by Hank Valk Construction and Ben Velner Construction until illness struck in 1989. He outlasted all doctors’ predictions and survived 25 years until succumbing. Ken is survived by Gloria, his wife of nearly 49 years; son, Murray of Calgary; daughter, Tanya (Stoney) Hines of Drayton Valley and son, Clint of Edmonton; grandchildren, Delaney, Brody and Kaycee Jay Hines of Drayton Valley; brothers, Frank (Elaine), Don (Dixie) and Tom (Diane) all of Medicine Hat as well as sisters, Peggy (Mike) Dase of Pincher Creek, Pat Franzen of Medicine Hat, Anna Mae Vair of Calgary, Susan (Henry) Seifried of Brooks and Vicki (Tony) Steidel of Duchess. He was predeceased by his parents, Norman and Marie (McCartney) Vair; sister, Lillian; brother, Jim; brother-in-law, Bob Franzen and his in-laws, Matt and Polly Obrigewitch. The family would like to thank all of the dedicated medical professionals who helped Ken through 25 tough years, especially Dr. Soo for all of his loyalty and support. Coralee Marie Lawrence passed away on Saturday, May 24, 2014, at the age of 25 years, beloved daughter of Mike and Linda Lawrence. She also leaves to cherish her memory her grandparents, Dale (Vera) Lawrence; her aunts and uncles, Brenda (Darrell) Seitz, Patrick Lawrence, Susan Lawrence, Bonnie (Rick) Hanson, Dennis (Sharon) Lanz, Lorraine Hirning; her cousins, Derek (Karla), their children, Mackenzie, Marlon and Milica; Dean (Robin), their children, Dawson and Danica; Chris; Sarah (fiancé Dustin); Dana (Bridgette); Tia; Heather (Harold), their child, James; Michael; Clifford and Sandra; numerous great aunts and uncles and her special friend Gerry McNeil. Also special to Coralee were all the aids and support staff that have been with her throughout her life, including Sandra Auger. Coralee was born and raised in Medicine Hat. She attended Irvine School and Eagle Butte School. After graduation in 2008, her days were spent at CORE, where she made many great friends. It was during her time at CORE she developed a love for swimming and bowling. Coralee also loved animals, especially dogs and pigs. As evidenced by her large pig collection. She will always be remembered by her warm, loving nature and her tireless dancing. She was predeceased by her grandparents, Jim (Mary) McCaig. Coralee loved to wear flip flops and shorts, so please come dressed in casual active wear in Coralee’s memory. .MILTON JAMES REINHARDT- June 29, 1933 – May 21, 2014

With sadness, the family of Milt Reinhardt announces his passing on Wednesday May 21, 2014 in his home at the age of 80 years, with his beloved wife Maryann at his side. He also leaves to cherish his memory his three children and their families, Patricia (Dan) Hein, Lyndon (Nancy) Reinhardt, Mark (Mandy) Reinhardt, all of Medicine Hat. He was the proud, happy grandfather to nine, and great grandfather to seven. He is also survived by both sisters-in-law, Jean Reinhardt (nee Moore) of Nanaimo, BC and Ann Reinhardt (nee Cross) of Eatonia, Saskatchewan and his special nieces and nephew Wendie Reinhardt, Denise Wolda and Grant Reinhardt and many other cousins. He was predeceased by his first wife Ivy Kathleen (nee Hunt) the mother of his children; his parents William and Caroline (nee Sept) Reinhardt; and his two brothers Roth and William of Leader, Saskatchewan. Milt was born in Medicine Hat and raised on the family farm north of Leader to the age of 16. The family then moved to the city where Milt graduated from Alexandra Composite High, continuing on to his graduation from Toronto’s Ryerson Poly Technical Institute. He specialized in drama, participating in the Dominion Drama Festival in Toronto as well as local theatre. He became active in politics at an early age and ran provincially at age 26. In 1968, he ran for municipal election becoming an Alderman. He served as Mayor and prized the honour of serving the city he loved so well. Milt was a successful family businessman having run Quality Home Appliances and Furniture, Mr. Ice Cream, Pipe & Paper, the Southview Mohawk Gas Station and Reinhardt’s Family Restaurant. Milt then served 20 years with the Medicine Hat Lodge and especially ineloved being the ambassador for the Lodge and overseeing the Sunday buffet. Milt will be remembered for his captivating storytelling, his energetic political views, his passion for professional hockey and baseball as well as his great love of cars, motorbikes and travel.He will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. All are welcome to attend the memorial service for Milt, which will be held on Friday, May 30, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at the Medicine Hat Lodge. Robert passed away in Calgary at the Peter Lougheed Hospital on Sunday, May 25 at the age of 51 years.
He will be sadly missed by his mother Lorraine Sehn; four brothers, Louis (Joyce), Amos (Beatrice), Lorne, Tim (Beverly) and five sisters, Sheila (Gilles) Dupuis, Janice (Rod) Stein, Julianne (Douglas) Chisholm, Alana (Jim) Schmid, and Corrie (Brent) Avery.
Prayer Service will be held on Thursday, May 29, 2014 at 8:00p.m. at Holy Family Parish.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Family Parish, 1451 Strachan Road S.E. Medicine Hat, AB on Friday, May 30, 2014 at 1:00p.m. with Fr. Philip Le, celebrant. Interment will follow in the Fox Valley Cemetery at 5:00p.m.

.VAUGHAN
Gordon James Vaughan passed away on Friday, May 23, 2014, at the age of 88 years, beloved husband of Roberta “Bobbie” Vaughan and predeceased by his first wife Jean on May 10, 1983. He also leaves to cherish his memory his son, Grant (Mary Lynne) Vaughan of Medicine Hat; two grandchildren, Jeremy Vaughan of Calgary and Tyrell (Jenna) Vaughan of Medicine Hat; his great granddaughter, Brynn, and one sister, Olive (Peter) Evans of Cranbrook, B.C.; Jean’s sisters, Leona (Basil) Leismeister, Minnie (Emanuel) Houff and Violet Houff as well as numerous nieces and nephews and many relatives in England. Besides Jean, he was predeceased by his parents, Rose and Charlie Vaughan; his mother and father-in-law, Olga and Otto Sieppert; his brother-in-law, John Houff and sister-in-law, Arylene (Alfred) Schimpf and special cousin Jack. Gordon was born on July 31, 1925 in Worral Hill, Forest of Dean, Gloucestershire, England and emigrated to Canada with his parents and sister in 1929, at the age of four years, settling in Medicine hat. He was educated at Riverside School and Alexandra High School. At the age of 16, he left school and began working for CP Rail as a call boy, progressing to car checker and senior car-control clerk, finishing his career in May of 1985 with over 43 years of service. Starting in the late 1950’s through the 60’s and mid 70’s, he coached and managed men’s and ladies fastball. In addition, he was an active 5-pin bowler, a member of the 5-pin Bowling Association. He competed in many competitions and tournaments. In January of 1966, he became on of the few Medicine Hat bowlers to achieve a perfect 450 score, which enabled him to participate in the Western Canadian Championship, placing 5th in the men’s singles. He continued to bowl up to 2013. He was a keen sports fan and was a long time season ticket holder with the Medicine Hat Tigers. Upon retirement from CP at 60 years of age, he took up golfing which quickly became a great passion. He managed to record a hole in one while a member of the Elkwater Park Golf Course. He later joined Connaught Golf Club where he golfed regularly with his fellow pensioners. He played golf with is buddies 17 days before his passing. Gordon was a long-time member of the Moose and the Royal Canadian Legion. He was also a member of the Independent Order of Foresters for well over 50 years, holding many executive positions during this time. He was never happier than when spending time with his family. His two grandson’s were the apple of his eye. He always supported their early activities and later careers. The highlight of his past few years was the birth of his first and only great- granddaughter, he will be missed by all.
