.1958 ~ CHERMISHNUK ~ 2014
Jerry Wayne Chermishnuk of Medicine Hat, passed away on Saturday, March 29th, 2014 at the age of 56 years. Jerry was born in Maple Creek on March 19th, 1958 to Michael and Kathryn Chermishnuk. He is survived by his wife, Suzanne; daughters, Amanda and Theresa; his sisters, Elizabeth and Marjorie; his twin brother, Terry (Kathy); many nieces and nephews; and close friends, Blaine and Marci Nunweiler. Jerry was predeceased by his parents; his brother, Larry; his sisters, Frieda and Beverley; and his nephew, Douglas. Jerry started every day with a walk to the store for The Calgary Sun. He always described himself as a voracious reader which made him very interesting to talk to. Jerry was very personable and would strike up a conversation with everyone he met. He was the happiest when his head was under the hood of a vehicle, his hands were greasy, and the radio was blaring. He worked in the gas and oil industry as a mechanic and millwright until he was injured. Jerry will be missed by all those who knew and loved him. At Jerry’s request, cremation has taken place and no formal funeral service will be held. .GIRLING, ROBERT BRUCE
In the early hours of Monday, April 1st, with his loving family at his side, Bob passed away peacefully in his sleep at the age of 65 after a long battle with cancer. He leaves behind the love of his life, Marlene Girling; his only daughter, Shelly, his six sons Scott, Chad, Nathan, Tyson, Jehremy and Adam and their partners, wives and families. He also leaves his step family, Shauna, Dean and Brian. Bob is survived by his mother Helen, aged 92 of Calgary AB, who mourns the loss of her third son. In addition, he leaves his only sister, Jo-ann (Bruce), with his many nieces and nephews as well as numerous friends old and new, including his lifelong friend, Mac Cotton. Grandpa, Papa is survived by 21 grandchildren who adored and loved him, with his many stories and wonderful memories.
Bob enjoyed his work at Forty Mile Gas Co-op and Bow River Gas Co-op where he made many friends. He loved golfing with his sons and also cherished the time he had with step-grandson Tylen, supporting and watching him at his hockey games. Last year, he had the holiday of a life time in Plymouth, England where he spent a magical time with his daughter and her family.
Heart-felt thanks goes to the nursing staff of the palliative care team in Lethbridge, the Jack Ady Cancer Centre and to his doctors for their compassionate care in his final weeks. Bob’s last days were made comfortable and peaceful by the incredible team at St Micheal’s; they were his angels.
A celebration memorial is to be held on Saturday, April 5th from 1.00 – 4.00 pm at 265 Ranchview Cres N.E. Medicine Hat, AB, T1C 0G7 for close family and friends only. In lieu of floral tributes, donations can be made to the Jack Ady Cancer Centre, 960 – 19 Street S. Lethbridge, AB, T1J 1W5, as per Bob’s wishes. Condolences can be sent to marbo@hotmail.ca.

.GLORIA ROSE PARKIN
We are saddened to announce the passing of Gloria Rose Parkin at the age of 82, on the 1st of April, 2014 of Medicine Hat, Alberta.
Gloria is lovingly survived by daughters Rosemary and Sydney (Mike), sons Terrance (Joan), William and David. Also mourning her loss are adopted children to the family Patti Armstrong and Guy Stromsmoe, along with numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild, as well as all friends whom she met throughout her life and her beloved cat Nibs.

.JOAN MARY LAWRENCE
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Joan Mary Lawrence on Friday, November 15th, 2013 at the age of 75 years. Joan was born in Calgary, Alberta on April 5th, 1938 to her parents, Maria and John Plomp. Joan leaves to cherish in memory her daughter, Lanni (Wade) Baumback; sons, Barry Lawrence and James Lawrence; one daughter-in-law, Tanya; and three grandchildren, Justin, April and Jenna. She also leaves two sisters, Betty (Allan) Ross and Mary (Harold) Skidmore; and several nieces and nephews. Joan was pre-deceased by her parents; daughter, Debbie; and brother, Lloyd Plomp. Joan was a long-time employee of Holmes Printing as a Graphic Artist and gained many great friends over the years. Her favorite hobbies included photography, computer graphics and shooting pool with her friends and team mates from the Legion Leagues and, to most recently, the Afterwork ‘O’ team. The friendships she gathered over the years are innumerable. We would like to thank all of Joan’s friends and relatives that visited with her and shared special memories in her time of need. The family would like to sincerely thank the staff at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital and especially St. Joseph’s Home – Carmel Hospice for the excellent care Joan received with dignity and compassion during the past month. Mr. John Tevel passed away peacefully at St. Joseph’s Home Carmel Hospice on Monday, March 31, 2014, at the age of 58 years. Reilly Richard Verhoeven of Medicine Hat passed away at the age of 23 years, beloved son of Rick (Phyllis) Verhoeven and Ericka Baldwinson (Brian Schaffer). He also leaves to cherish his memory his sisters, Aleigha, Tatem and Hope and his step-sister, Brooke; his grandparents, Bill Verhoeven (Christine), Pearl (Ed) Coates and David (Elaine) Baldwinson; his aunts and their families, Annette (Brent) Maser, Denise (Aaron) Mills, Andrea (Humphrey) Cheung, Maria (Rick) Lee and Kurt (Cheryl) Baldwinson; his special cousins, Cole, Bennett and Dean as well as his many close friends. Reilly was very passionate, kind and lived life to the fullest. He loved his family, had many close friends and always continued to make more. You knew when Reilly entered the room. He had a great work ethic and respect for others. His passion was sports, especially basketball. Reilly was a wonderful son, brother, and grandson who will be missed dearly. Rose Zubot passed away on Tuesday, April 1, 2014, at the age of 84 years, beloved wife of Bernard Zubot of Medicine Hat.
