Walter William Severin, beloved husband of Florence “Flo” Severin, passed away on Saturday, February 8th, 2014 at the age of 92 years. Tammy Chavon Davis of Medicine Hat, passed away on Saturday, February 8th, 2014 at the age of 35 years. Tammy leaves to cherish her memory two children, Trey and Tyrece; her mother, Marilyn Burton; her sister, Tanisha (Aaron) Petrick; her nephew, Ryder Petrick; her grandpa, Don Davis; her grandma, Donelda Burton; aunts and uncles, Cole (Brenda) Davis, Heather Davis (Keith Finkbeinder), Randi (Don) Mark, Clayton (Nelma) Davis, Dwayne Burton (Donna Marti), Terry (Cindy) Burton, and Doug Burton; numerous cousins and friends; and her beloved four-legged child, Abby. Jim was born in Lions Gate Hospital in North Vancouver to Maurice James (Jim Sr.) and Susan Rita Huber (nee Moe). He was the much loved husband of Kristine (nee Bayley) and proud father of Ewan James (13) and William Magnus (10). Jim moved to Medicine Hat with his mother, father and sister, Kristi (now McDonald) and finally settled in Redcliff in 1980. This is where he attended school to Grade 9 and went on to CHHS until 1993. He will be sadly missed by his large extended family. Jim’s loving family includes his step-father, Curtis Huber; half and step-brothers and sisters: Benjamin (Erin), Anthony (Tessa), Emily (Ricky), Athena, Christopher, Curtis Jr. (Lana) and Michael (Erin); his Grandma Moe; his step-mother, Barb; brother-in-law, Chad McDonald; father and mother-in-law, Bill and Sheila Bayley; sister-in-law, Kathy Jackson (Brad); brother-in-law, Bill (Sherry) and his many nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Jim’s life will be held at the Bridge Church, 350 – 1 Avenue N.E., Medicine Hat on Saturday, February 15, 2014, at 1:00 P.M. .JOSEPH PETER PRPICK
March 19,1933 – February 10, 2014
Joe Prpick — a.k.a. Church Joe, a.k.a. Diddy — was a farmer, community leader, blue collar worker, entrepreneur, true friend and, above all, the anchor of an incredible network of friends and family. And he was a firm supporter of the causes of the common man, giving his time to the National Farmers Union and later, supporting candidates of the Saskatchewan NDP. Not rich in the material things in life, he was very wealthy indeed in the things that really count: the love of his children and grandchildren, his spouse Sharon and the rest of his extended family. He was also rich beyond measure in his reputation for integrity, honesty and gentleness. If you asked his opinion on something, you may not always have heard what you wanted, but it was delivered with the best of intentions and great underlying kindness and concern. He also taught family, friends and anyone who came to know him about endurance. In 1974 Joe was in a serious car accident from which he never fully recovered, leaving him with significant physical challenges for all his remaining years and closing the farming chapter of his life. It was a burden he bore with dignity. They say no old man’s death is tragedy. In Diddy’s case, this is exactly so. His death is a cause of celebration of a good man, who left the earth better than he found it and one who will always be held close in the hearts of those who knew him. As the great philosopher Paul McCartney said, “The love you take/ Is equal to the love you make”. Diddy was equal to all our love … and more. Joe Prpick is survived by his wife Sharon, his children Paula (John, Sarah, JJ), Danica (Joel, Mathieu, Joseph, Dominique), Luke (Paula, Adam), Sean (Maud, Léa, Zoé) and his siblings Hazel, Ray and Bud. He was pre-deceased by his son Matthew, brother Jim and parents Emil and Anna. Joe’s funeral was held at St. Andrew’s Roman Catholic Church in Kenaston on Saturday, February 15, followed by a community reception at Kenaston Place. He was interred alongside his son Matthew in St. Andrews Cemetery, Kenaston. Deepest appreciation to Joe’s medical team at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital for their compassionate care in his last days, and special thanks to his nurses Peggy, Diane, Pam and Leanne. Bradley Charles Leifso of Medicine Hat went peacefully to sleep on Saturday, February 8, 2014 at the age of 62 years. Brad’s memory will be cherished forever in the heart of Roxane Wotherspoon, who was his wife and best friend, for 10 years. He will also be remembered by Roxane’s four children, David (Leslie) Wotherspoon of Rochester, Alberta, Tracey (Gord) Gray of Swift Current, Darcy (Harvey) Wotherspoon and Jodi Wotherspoon all of Medicine Hat and their children; one brother, Terry (Sylvia) Leifso of Toronto and one sister, Cheryl (Bob) Thomson of Paisley, Ontario, their children R.J. Thomson of Paisley and Tracy (Jake) Darcy of Linwood, Ontario and their children. Brad worked mostly as a carpenter and prided himself on the work he did as it was praised and appreciated by others. Brad also loved to go to Bingo and he enjoyed a party, bar-b-ques, bonfires and playing darts with all his dart buddies. At Brad’s request, cremation has taken place. A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, February 22, 2014 at Schooner’s Pub (702 2 St. SE) from 2:00 – 5:00 p.m. As an expression of sympathy donations may be made to the charity of your choice. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Marilyn McFaul on Tuesday, February 11, 2014, at the age of 57 years. She is survived by her husband, Peter Danderfer; her brother Brian (Pam) McFaul; her sister, Linda (Gerry) Beck as well as her nieces and nephews, Gina and Bob Burgess (Brayden, Marissa, and Teagan), Ryan and Rachelle Beck (Nathan, Rylie and Shaylee) and Tara and Jason Bleyens (Nick). For the past sixteen years, she was employed at Riverview Care Centre. Marilyn was loved by all who knew her and enjoyed life to the fullest and always said she was going back to work. This past summer, Peter and Marilyn went to Wasa Lake for a holiday which was where she always used to come for holidays and it made her very happy. Marilyn, we all know that you are that bright star, twinkling down on us from above and we will look up and blow a kiss to you every night. Love you!
