Rose Helen Aberle of Medicine Hat, passed away on Thursday, January 16, 2014, at the age of 84 years, beloved wife of the late Joseph Aberle. She leaves to cherish her memory three children, Rita (Dwayne) Tugwell, Joanne (Tom) Boechler and Jonathan Aberle; four grandchildren, Kelly (Chris Besenski) Schmitt; Kristy (Amanda) Schmitt (step daughter, Mataya) and their father Archie Schmitt; Jodi and Jordan Aberle and their mother, Arlene; one brother, Alexander Krassman and two sisters-in-law, Tillie (Dan=) Krassman and Tillie (Tony=) Krassman as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Christina and Alexander Krassman; her husband Joseph on April 30, 2010; one daughter, Christina (Hugh) Campbell; two grandchildren, Roderick and Rosalind Zacher; brothers, John (Agnes), Dan, Tony (Helen); sisters, Phyllis (Vincent) Lowdermilk, Tillie (Nat) Aberle, Pauline (Paul) Stober. Rose was born on September 7, 1929 at Schuler where she was raised. On October 26, 1946 she married Joe Aberle in Schuler where they made their home farming and raised their family. In her spare time she loved doing crafts and growing flowers. Rose had a heart of gold which shown through as she opened her home to family and friends who never left with an empty stomach. She had a dry wit and a sense of humour that she kept right until the very end. Rose was a member of T.O.P.S. for decades and won numerous awards. She was also a member of the C.W.L. for over 60 years. Those who wish to pay their respects may do so at the PATTISON FUNERAL HOME on Sunday evening from 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. and at the church on Monday from 9:30 – 10:25 a.m. Family and friends will gather for prayers in the PATTISON CHAPEL on Sunday evening at 7:00 p.m. The funeral mass will be celebrated in Holy Family Parish (1451 Strachan Road SE) on Monday, January 20, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. with Fr. Matthew Emmelkamp celebrant. Interment will follow in the family plot Hillside Cemetery. 1937 ~ 2014

Jacquelene (Jackie) Lenore MacIntyre passed away peacefully at the St. Joseph’s Home – Carmel Hospice on Wednesday, Jan 15th, 2014 at the age of 76. Jackie will be deeply missed by her children, Brenda (Al) Gabel and grand daughter, Nikita; Michael Charette, granddaughter, Leah and grandson, David; Pam (Paul) Ryckman, granddaughter, Brandi (Jason) Coakley and great-grandson, Branson; sisters, Eleanor (Ed), Grace (Steve), Linda (Rick), and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Stephen Charette; mother, Ethelda; father, Jack; sister, Jean; and brothers, John and George. Jackie was born May 31st, 1937 in St. Thomas Ont. She raised her family in Ontario then moved to Medicine Hat in the 80’s. Jackie was a loving mother but her grandchildren meant the world to her and would always take first place before anyone or anything. Nikita was the lucky grandchild because she was here with her and got to spend all of her time with her grandma and make so many memories. Thank you to the family and good friends that got to visit and call during this time, it meant so much to her. Jackie was a giving person and loved to can and bake, and then share it with her family and friends. Although she had a feisty personality, her sense of humour and genuine heart made it easy for her to touch so many lives. For the brief time she was at St. Josephs Home – Carmel Hospice, she made some special memories with friends (staff), and they might want to consider a new Christmas tradition (oysters). The family extends their most heartfelt gratitude to all of the staff, they certainly made a difference.
