Raymond Gerald Deering, beloved husband of Edith “Edie” Gorzo of Medicine Hat, passed away on Saturday, January 4th, 2014 at the age of 61 years. Raymond also leaves to cherish his memory two sons, Dan Deering (Colette Hahn) of Prince George and Sandon Deering of Medicine Hat; two grandchildren, Tyler and Erica; his father, Arthur Deering; two brothers; and Edie’s family, Marge (Roger) Kessel, Bill Gorzo, Cliff Gorzo, Steve Gorzo, and Derek (Melissa) Kessel. Raymond was predeceased by his mother, Lydia Deering. Ray was born on October 17th, 1952 in Medicine Hat and was raised on the farm south of Irvine. He spent two years at the Calgary Police Force and Academy and was employed with the Medicine Hat Police Force for two years. Ray enjoyed carpentry work and received his Journeyman’s Certificate. He worked on many projects including the Remand Centre, the hospital expansion, and the bridges around Crowsnest Pass. Ray was a member of the UCT/ACT. He was an avid golfer and loved the outdoors and camping. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his family and friends. It is with our deepest regret that we announce the passing of Misty May Anderson on Thursday, January 2nd, 2014. Misty leaves behind her two beautiful children, Skyla and Darian Dopp and their father, Dave Dopp. As well, Misty leaves behind her mother, Leah Bolhoven (Harvey Turner); her father, Emiel Bolhoven (Rhonda Franson); brother, Dennis Bolhoven (Erin) and nephew, Karsen; her sister, Christina (Garf) Anderson-Gould and her children. Many people touched Misty’s life. She had an extended family that will miss her greatly, step-mom, Beverly Chalk; step-sister and brother, Jessika and Ken Chalk. Auntie Kim (Binder) was a very special person in Misty’s life and was always there for her along with her cousins, Krystal Binder, Mardy Binder and Stephanie Dillon; and step grandmother, Carol Farkas. There are numerous aunts, uncles and cousins, too many to mention….know that Misty loved you all. Misty was born on August 2nd, 1983 in Fairview, Alberta. She lived in Calgary most of her childhood until her early teens when she moved to Medicine Hat. A Celebration of Misty’s Life will be held in SAAMIS MEMORIAL FUNERAL CHAPEL, #1 Dunmore Road SE, on Saturday, January 11th, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. with Gary W. Goran officiating. Fred Elmer Ehnisz passed away on Monday, January 6, 2014, at the age of 81 years, beloved husband of Janet Ehnisz of Medicine Hat. He also leaves to cherish his memory three children, Arla (Allen) Krein and their children Alana (Quentin), their son Kane; Amy, and Aaron; Neil (Vicki) Ehnisz and their children, Jesse and Alysha; Gail (Rick) Jorgensen and their children, Dallas and Olivia; one brother, Raymond (Idella) Ehnisz; four sisters, Idella Raaf, Lillian Burkart, Lena (Rueben) Zepick and Viola (Paul) Deering; one brother-in-law, Bill Miller and two sisters-in-law, Kathleen Ehnisz and Vida (Dale) Jones as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Philip and Anna Ehnisz; three brothers, Emil, Harry and one in childhood, three sisters, Edna Roth, Elma Schick and Mabel Miller. Fred and Janet were married in November of 1954 and took over the Ehnisz family farm in the Burstall district until their retirement in November 1996. Family, faith and community were always a high priority for Fred. The family is grateful for the care he received at the Riverview Care Center for the last 4 1/2 years. Fred placed his faith in the Lord at an early age and it is reassuring to know that he is now made whole in the presence of his Saviour. Family and friends who wish to pay their respects may do so at the PATTISON FUNERAL HOME on Thursday evening from 6:00 -8:00 p.m. and at the church on Friday, from 12 noon – 12:55 p.m. The funeral service will be held at Hillcrest Evangelical Missionary Church (3785 13th Ave SE) on Friday, January 10, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Dr. Shane P. Andrus officiating. A private family interment will follow in the Hillside Cemetery.
