.1934 ~ GIESBRECHT ~ 2013
Abram “Abe” Giesbrecht, beloved husband of Mary Giesbrecht of Medicine Hat, passed away on Monday, December 2nd, 2013 at the age of 79 years. Abe also leaves to cherish his memory one son, Rob Giesbrecht (Deanna McBurnnie) of Medicine Hat; three grandchildren, Keegan, Dyneshia and Ledger, all of Medicine Hat; one brother, George (Vivian) Giesbrecht of Vernon, British Columbia; one sister, Margaret (Ed) Klassen of Armstrong, British Columbia; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Abe was predeceased by his parents, Edmund and Anna Giesbrecht; and one brother, Benjamin Giesbrecht. Abe was born on September 9th, 1934 in Morris, Manitoba. It was in Morris that he married Mary Pylypiuk on September 26th, 1953. Abe loved being a pilot. He was an avid bridge player and loved spending his winters in the south with Mary. He had a love of knowledge and was forever learning new things. Abe will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved him. A Private Family Time of Remembrance will be held. 1939 ~ 2013
Jackie “Bub” and “Oma” (nee Slofstra), went to be with the lord suddenly at home, December 1, 2013, at the age of 74 years. She leaves to cherish her memory, her son Hank, daughter, Pat (John) Carpenter and son, Cal (Cheryl) Aasman and daughter-in-law, Jaylene Aasman all of Medicine Hat; grandchildren, Chantel Hallett (Mike Timchuk), Kristin (Dave) Schlemko, Josh Hallett (Kaylene Simpson), Chelbey Carpenter, Ryan Aasman, Logan Aasman, Jayna Aasman and Kayleigh Aasman; great- grandchildren, Brooklyn Jacqueline Timchuk, Ava Kiss Schlemko and Taylor Arnell Hallett. Mom was predeceased by her husband, James (1993), sons, Tony (2008) and Randy (1972) and daughter, Nellie (2012). Mom was born in the Netherlands in 1939 and immigrated to Canada in 1952. Prior to her marriage in 1960, mom was employed at Taylor Brother’s grocery store. The arrival of Tony in 1961 marked the beginning of 5 children in 5 years. After a 5 year break, Cal was born in 1971. Needless to say, mom dedicated her entire life to caring for Pops and the kids. Mom was a kind, compassionate and loving lady who would shower her family with countless ‘I Love You’s.’ A broken heart took our mother, but mom is now finally at peace with her precious husband and kids. The Funeral Service will be held at the Christian Reformed Church, 300 Primrose Drive S.E., Medicine Hat on Thursday, December 5, 2013, at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor George Koopmans officiating. Private family interment will take place at Hillside Cemetery.
