Mrs. Alma Bellagente of Medicine Hat, beloved wife of the late Victor Bellagente, passed away on August 19th, 2013. The Funeral Service was held yesterday at Unity Lutheran Church. .1924~ SIGGELKOW ~ 2013
Ruby Hellen Siggelkow, with family by her side, peacefully changed neighborhoods on Friday, August 23rd, 2013 at the age of 89 years. She is now with her Lord and Savior, walking on streets of gold. Ruby leaves to cherish her memory six children, Glen (Johan) Siggelkow of Lethbridge; Gloria (Bob) Overguard of Rocky Mountain House; Mervyn (Mavis) Siggelkow of High River; Clifford (Anne) Siggelkow of Medicine Hat; Rhonda Siggelkow of Medicine Hat, and Timothy Siggelkow of Burdett, thirteen grandchildren, ten great grandchildren; one brother, Earl (Olive) Aspinall of Estevan, Saskatchewan; one sister, Inez (Phil) Siggelkow of Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan; her sister in-laws Margaret Aspinall of Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, and Dot Aspinall of Calgary, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She also leaves to cherish her memory one foster daughter, Veronica Skeith and her children. Ruby was predeceased by her parents, William and Ella Aspinall, her husband, John Siggelkow, two brothers, Art and Everton Aspinall; one sister, Lyla (Don) Taylor, and her granddaughter Karyssa Siggelkow. Ruby was born May 27th, 1924 at North Portal, Saskatchewan. In June 1944, she married John Siggelkow, and moved to Pinto, Saskatchewan, where John worked in the coal mine. They spent two years in Moose Jaw, where John attended Bible School, then moved to Outram for John’s third year of Bible School. They built and pastored a church in the Peace River county of Alberta, then moved back to the farm for several years in the North Portal area. They moved to Alberta to purchase the Burdett General Store, which they ran for seventeen years. When they sold the Store, John returned to farming and Ruby looked after foster children until John’s passing in 1980. Ruby then worked for eight years in food services at Pleasant View Lodge in Bow Island until retiring in 1999 when she then moved to Medicine Hat. The Funeral Service will be held in FIRST ASSEMBLY OF GOD, 395 – 9th Street SE, on Thursday, August 29th, 2013, at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Ken Roset officiating. Carey Don Gader passed away Thursday August 22nd, at the age of 47; beloved husband to Shelly Gader, and loving father of Morgan and Haley. Carey also leaves to cherish his memory; his parents, Fred and Faye; two brothers, Gary and Larry; two sisters, Diana (Don) and Lori (Don), and their families; Shelly’s mother, Betty, sisters Debbie and Aylene (Ivor); brothers, Duane (Joan) and Alvin and their families. Carey was predeceased by his grandparents and his father-in-law, Harold Olson. Carey was the youngest son of Fred and Faye. He was born in Vanguard, Saskatchewan but spent most of his young life in Swift Current. He played basketball, badminton, fastball and many other sports. Carey was known and respected for his vast knowledge and his quick mind. After graduating from high school, Carey attended the University of Saskatoon where he received his Bachelor of Commerce degree. He began his career with Xerox in the city of Lloydminster and eventually moved to Camrose. Carey left Xerox to return to Saskatoon where he worked for a medical supply company. Xerox called once more and Carey moved to Medicine Hat in 1994 to take over the Xerox agency. In 1990 Carey met Shelly at a basketball tournament in Provost. Five years later they were married and they began their life together. Blessed with the gift of their two daughters, Morgan and Haley, Carey raised his children to have a strong faith in God, respect for others and to keep true to their beliefs and morals. Taking care, and supporting his family, they were able to travel a lot, with some of the best memories being made in Disneyland, Hawaii and Las Vegas. Graced by loving family and friends, his life was filled with love and compassion. Family and friends will gather at Warren’s Funeral Home in Swift Current on Tuesday, August 27 from 1:00-2:00 p.m. for the viewing with interment to follow at Memory Gardens. Carey’s memorial service to celebrate Carey’s life will be held in Medicine Hat, where he resided with Shelly, Morgan and Haley, on Wednesday, August 28. .WILLIAM ‘BILL’ SPENCER RAE

It is with sadness that the family of William (Bill) Spencer Rae, beloved husband of MaryEllen, announce his passing on Saturday, August 24, 2013, at the age of 66 years. Bill was born on February 14, 1947. His mother Marian called him, “the best Valentine she ever received”. Bill spent 30 years with the Medicine Hat School District, No. 76 beginning his career as a Phys. Ed. teacher at River Heights and retiring in 2002 as Deputy Superintendent. Bill was a passionate educator, always putting the needs of his teachers and students first. He supported and made school ‘work’ for all students. Bill’s professional associations were many including provincial appointments and serving on the Medicine Hat College Board of Governors, but his love for Medicine Hat High School was unparalleled. His blood flowed green and white. Bill was a devoted son, a cherished husband, a loving father and a caring Papa. His family was often on the receiving end of his many pranks, particularly his sister, Betty Ann. Bill spent countless hours in the water with Tyler and Erica at Riverside Pool and Flathead Lake as well as long walks in Police Point Park and along the river. He was a talented cook and many family and friends were treated to tasty meals he had prepared. In more recent years, Papa Bill often had a grandchild curled up in his lap reading stories or he could be found up at the crack of dawn scrambling eggs and making waffles on sleepover mornings. Being outside, whether in the Cypress Coulees, the mountains of Montana, the South Saskatchewan river or his beloved garden was where Bill was most at home. He was proud of his tomatoes, hot peppers and his beautiful fragrant roses of all colors and varieties. Always generous, Bill often shared baskets of produce and flowers from his garden with family and friends. After retiring, Bill found his way into a number of ‘big kitchens’ and treasured his time cooking at ‘Splash Camp’ and for CORE. Memories of Bill will forever be cherished by his wife of 45 years, MaryEllen; mother, Marian; children, Tyler and his wife, Kim; Erica and her husband Bob; and grandchildren, Kassidy, Kiera, Kobe, Grace and Fred who will carry forward loving moments of their precious Papa. He will also be remembered by his brothers, Keith (Mary), Bruce (Kathy); brother-in-law, Bob (Sandy); nieces, nephews, cousins and the Montana family. He was predeceased by his sister, Betty Ann and his father, Spencer. Bill will be loved and remembered always. A Celebration of Bill’s life will be held at the Carriage House (Stampede Grounds) 2055 – 21 Avenue S.E., Medicine Hat on Thursday, August 29, 2013 beginning at 3:00 P.M., followed by a BBQ.
