Arthur “Art” Ole Carlson passed away peacefully on August 11, 2013, at age eighty. He leaves to cherish in his memories his soul mate of 56 years Karen Mae and son Steven (Carol) Carlson, daughter Kristine (Wayne) Mugleston, and son David (Connie) Carlson. His grandchildren Sarah (Jim) Rennie, Levi (Natalie Vaughan) Carlson, Bryden (Katie) Mugleston, Tammy (Derek) Loiland, Chelsea (Cory Laurenson) Carlson, Shelby Carlson, Lowen Carlson and Sydney Carlson; great grandchildren Hannah, Isabel and James Rennie and Alexis and Graham Loiland. Survived by siblings Clarence (Rose), George (Adele) and Anna ( Larry) and brother and sister in-law Dean (Lorraine) Mortensen. Predeceased by his parents Gustav and Agnes, siblings Audrey and Charlie, by his father and mother in-law Claritt and Mary Mortensen and brother and sister in-law Bud and Irene Mortensen. Art was born on the family homestead near Scottsburg Saskatchewan. In his early years he worked for the Saskatchewan Government surveying the Trans Canada Highway. Art met Karen at the Saturday Night Dance in Gull Lake and later married Karen on July 5th 1957. They resided in Swift Current. In 1970 he changed careers to barber/ beautician moving the family to Medicine Hat opening His and Hers Coiffeurs. In 1986 they took over the family farm near Gull Lake, Saskatchewan farming for nineteen years. In 2005 they retired to Medicine Hat to be near family. Art loved dancing with Karen, had a way with animals; dogs, cats, cattle andhorses, and with his devilish sense of humor enjoyed teasing his grandchildren (especially at the supper table) and also his adopted mom Grandma Jean. Community service included Charter Member of Independent Order of Foresters and many years on parent council of Scouts Canada. The funeral service will be held in the PATTISON CHAPEL on Friday, August 16, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. with The Reverend Canon Gene Packwood officiating. Interment will follow in the Hillside Cemetery. It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our beloved Chris. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him. He leave behind to cherish his memory his loving family; parents Ross & Laura, brother Matthew, nephew Coleton, niece Kaidence; grandparents Jim and Claire Sergeant and Louise Collier, as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by his sister Jennifer Jean, his grandmother Jean Marshall and grandfather Ray Collier.

Edmund Philip Hittel, passed away on Tuesday, August 13, 2013, at the age of 76 years, beloved husband of Darlene Hittel of Medicine Hat. He also leaves to cherish his memory three children, Sheila Hittel of Calgary, Debbie (Terry) Ternes of Fox Valley and Darwin (Donna) Hittel of Liebenthal; six grandchildren, Winter (Jason) Reeb; Brandon (Mindy) Ternes, Tyson Ternes, Blake (Shae-Lynn) Hittel, Kurt Hittel and Chad Hittel; two sisters, Dianne (Bob) Petryshyn and Erma (Ted) Matthews all of Saskatoon as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Bertha and Philip Hittel; one son, Dwayne in infancy and two sisters, Alice Koch and Eileen (Tony) Ehresman. Ed was born on April 4, 1937 and was raised on the family home place at Liebenthal. On April 7, 1959 he married Darlene Schmaltz and together they took over the farming operation. In 1992 they moved to Medicine Hat and he continued to farm with Darwin until his passing. Ed loved fishing, hunting and was a Game Warden for many years. He loved his grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with them. Family and friends will gather for prayers in the PATTISON CHAPEL on Friday at 7:00 p.m. The funeral mass will be celebrated in Holy Family Parish (1451 Strachan Road SE) on Saturday, August 17, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. with Fr. Anton “Tony” Frank Klug of Medicine Hat, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on Sunday, August 11, 2013, at the age of 62 years. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 32 years, Emily Klug and his only son Travis Klug of Medicine Hat; two brothers, Jim Klug of Pine Lake and Richard (Geraldine) Klug of Maple Ridge, B.C. and one sister, Betty Miller of Maple Creek; two brothers-in-law, Philip (Darlene) Bosch and Richard (Linda) Bosch all of Medicine Hat; his mother-in-law, Ann Bosch of Medicine Hat as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Elizabeth and Frank Klug; his father-in-law Joseph Bosch; and brother-in-law, Tony Miller. Tony was born on July 13, 1951 in Maple Creek, Saskatchewan. On April 23, 1982 he married Emily Bosch in Leader, Saskatchewan. Tony was employed with CP Rail for 32 years as well as with School District #76 at Crestwood School. Tony was involved with Holy Family Parish Knights of Columbus. Archie John Angus “Mac” McDonald of Medicine Hat passed away on Saturday, August 10, 2013, at the age of 79 years. He leaves to cherish his memory his daughter, Lillian and his partner Shirley McDonald; one brother, Donald (Carol) McDonald of Kitchener; one sister, Betty Butler of Scarborough; two nieces, Karen and Annmarie and one nephew, Stephen as well as several other relatives in P.E.I. He was predeceased by his parents, Hilda and Archie McDonald; two sisters, Marcella and Donna. Mac was a proud member of AA for 20 years.
