Mr. Joseph Robert “Bob” Marier, beloved husband of Mrs. Joyce Shorter of Medicine Hat, passed away on Wednesday, August 7th, 2013 at the age of 81 years. Bob also leaves to cherish his memory four children, Kenny Shorter (Brenda), Reggie Shorter (Marg), Darrell Shorter and Darlene (Daryl) Zerr; ten grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; best friend, Wally Mimick; as well as numerous extended family, friends and acquaintances. Mrs. Judith “Judy” Dorn, beloved wife and best friend of Mr. Glenn Dorn of Medicine Hat, passed away on Monday, August 12th, 2013 at the age of 56 years. Judy also leaves to cherish her memory one son, Mike (Adrienne); two grandchildren, Shianne and Tyler; her parents, Walter and Margaret; three brothers, Keith (Jill), Wayne (Maureen) and Ken; four sisters, Jeanette, Pat (Henry), Kristine (Rodney) and Karen (Albert); her mother-in-law, Eleanor; three brothers-in-law, Jerry, Rob (Babette) and John (Laurie); one sister-in-law, Deb (Wendell); as well as numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Judy was predeceased by her daughter, Candace; and her grandson, Braden. Alfred Ehman of Medicine Hat passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 10, 2013, at the age of 84 years, with his best friend and caregiver by his side. Alf was born on May 24, 1929 in the Wisdom area to parents Jacob and Christina (Stickel) Ehman. He was the only son of six children and went to school at Lloyd’s School in Wisdom up to grade nine. The family attended the Evangelical Church where Alf sang in the choir. On October 13, 1951 he married Emily Maier from the Schuler area. They took over the Ehman family farm where they lived until 1985 when they sold the farm and relocated to Medicine Hat. They both loved to travel, going to the U.S. with nephew Roy Hausauer and his wife Jenny, in the first years of their retirement. Roy introduced him to motorbikes, of which he had many, going on many biking day trips. Later they took tours to the Maritimes, Alaska, Hawaii and a cruise to Mexico. Emily passed away on November 21, 2008 and Alf moved into a condo at the Norwood Grand. Up until he had his first stroke in August 2012, Alf loved trading off cars and still loved to take day trips around the countryside with Frieda sometimes putting on 500 km in a day. In the past few years Alf enjoyed visiting with Frieda’s great-nieces, Danae and Alyssa Zieffle. He always had a glint in his eye, some candy in his pocket and a little fun for them and they had hugs for him. Alf was predeceased by his parents Jacob and Christina; sisters, Ruby Stickel, Bertha and Bill Wagner, Alma and Emil Hausauer; brothers-in-law, Percy Stevens, Ben Widmer and Walter Maier. He is survived by his best friend Frieda Gazdag; sisters, Clara Stevens and Ida Widmer; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Carol and Fred Voeller, Helga Maier, Sam and Jean Maier as well as numerous nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be held in the PATTISON CHAPEL on Wednesday, August 14, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Sidney Nelson officiating. Interment will follow in the Hillside Cemetery. Anton “Tony” Frank Klug of Medicine Hat, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on Sunday, August 11, 2013, at the age of 62 years. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 32 years, Emily Klug and his only son Travis Klug of Medicine Hat; two brothers, Jim Klug of Pine Lake and Richard (Geraldine) Klug of Maple Ridge, B.C. and one sister, Betty Miller of Maple Creek; two brothers-in-law, Philip (Darlene) Bosch and Richard (Linda) Bosch all of Medicine Hat; his mother-in-law, Ann Bosch of Medicine Hat as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Elizabeth and Frank Klug; his father-in-law Joseph Bosch; and brother-in-law, Tony Miller. Tony was born on July 13, 1951 in Maple Creek, Saskatchewan. On April 23, 1982 he married Emily Bosch in Leader, Saskatchewan. Tony was employed with CP Rail for 32 years as well as with School District #76 at Crestwood School. Tony was involved with Holy Family Parish Knights of Columbus. Family and friends will gather for prayers in the PATTISON CHAPEL on Thursday evening at 7:00 p.m. The funeral mass will be celebrated in Holy Family Parish (1451 Strachan Road SE) on Friday, August 16, 2013 at 10: 30 a.m. with Fr. Philip Le celebrant. A private interment will follow in the Hillside Cemetery. He leaves to cherish his memory his daughter, Lillian and his partner Shirley McDonald; one brother, Donald (Carol) McDonald of Kitchener; one sister, Betty Butler of Scarborough; two nieces, Karen and Annmarie (Stephen) as well as several other relatives in P.E.I. He was predeceased by his parents, Hilda and Archie McDonald; two sisters, Marcella and Donna. Mac was a proud member of AA for 20 years.
