ENGLISHTOWN, N.S. – A school bus driver was seriously hurt and some students received minor injuries when their bus collided with a trailer that was parked partially in a Cape Breton roadway.

RCMP say 11 students were on the bus and suffered “bumps and bruises” after the 8:08 a.m. crash near Englishtown, N.S.

The driver was taken by air ambulance to hospital for treatment of serious injuries.

Police say his bus hit the trailer, which had been left overnight on the roadside near the crest of Kelly’s Mountain.

Highway 105 was closed in both directions around noon today, and traffic was being diverted.
