Big Lotto Max win for Medicine Hat man

A Medicine Hat man is a lot richer than he was a few days ago.

Stuart Heather won $265,691 on the July 28, 2017, Lotto Max draw, but waited until now to claim the prize.

In a release from the Alberta Gaming and Liquor Commission, Heather said he knew he won shortly after the draw but didn’t know what to do.

“So, I hid the ticket in my house and took it out to recheck it whenever I had other tickets to check on my phone,” said Heather.

Heather has one big plan with his newfound wealth — to pay down a big chunk of his mortgage.

The release states heather bought the winning ticket at the Co-op gas bar on 13th Avenue SE.
