Man arrested Wednesday after collision involving stolen vehicle

One man has been charged with stolen property offences after an incident Wednesday.

At 5:45 p.m. Feb. 7, police responded to a vehicle collision around 3030 13th Avenue SE, where the involved vehicle turned out to be one reported as stolen earlier that day from downtown. The suspect fled on foot, and the K9 unit was brought in to track him.

This led police to the nearby Co-op, where it was learned the suspect had gotten a taxi.

Police were able to then get the address of where he was taken, and arrest him there. A stolen ID was found in the vehicle.
