Medicine Hat police say Vaile has been located safely and that no other information will be released.
The Medicine Hat Police Service has now asked the Southeast Alberta Search and Rescue team for its help in finding 23-year-old Rylan Vaile of Lethbridge.
Vaile was last seen walking towards Trans-Canada Highway from 13 Ave Saturday around 10 a.m., and the MHPS believes he was in Medicine Hat for a social event.
The MHPS says Vaile does not have any family or friends in Medicine Hat, no money, no cell and he may have tried to hitch-hike back to Lethbridge.
“We’re just trying to eliminate all the possibilities here,” said Staff Sgt. Kelsey Fraser. “SEASAR has been called in because we just don’t have the size or capacity they have. Right now we’re trying to make sure he hasn’t wandered into an open field area at night.”
Fraser says the MHPS is in contact with Lethbridge Police, but the other city’s service is not playing a large role at this point in the investigation.
