Five in hospital, including RCMP officer, after collision near Leader

A crash north of Leader, Sask. sent five people to hospital — including an RCMP officer who was driving one of the vehicles involved.

A release sent out Monday by the Leader RCMP detachment briefly describes the accident, which took place in the early evening of Jan. 12

All involved, including four adults, two male and two female, in a private truck, were sent to hospital either in Leader or Kindersley with injuries described as non-life threatening.

The accident took place at 7:35 p.m. and involved a marked police car on Highway 21 north of Leader, the release states.

The Eatonia and Leader fire departments assistedat the scene.

The collision is currently being investigated by RCMP Collision Reconstruction, which is based in Swift Current.
