Type 2 diabetes workshop Aug. 23

There are challenges to living with Type 2 diabetes, and Alberta Health Services is holding a three-hour workshop Aug. 23 to help.

The workshop is designed to help individuals take control of their diabetes and improve quality of life. It is led by AHS diabetes educators and will include topics such as blood sugar testing and maintenance, foot care, medication, nutrition, physical activity and its impact on diabetes and travel.

Family members and other caregivers are also encouraged to attend and participants who have attended previous workshops can register again.

The workshop takes place from 9 a.m. to noon at the River Heights Professional Centre, Suite 100, 88 Valleyview Dr. S.W. Please register by calling 403-529-8969 or toll free 1-866-795-9709. You will need your Alberta health card number to register.
