The Medicine Hat Police Service is looking for one man after kicking in the door to a house in the northeast part of the city.

Just after 2 a.m. Saturday a resident of the 900 block of Holt Crescent NE was awoken by a loud bang. The resident got out of bed and found a man had kicked in a door to the residence and was standing in the kitchen. After being confronted the man fled on foot. Police attended, but were unable to locate the man.

The man is described as white, roughly 30 years old, six-feet-tall with a slim build and short brown or dirty blonde hair. He was wearing a grey t-shirt.

Police are saying it may be possible that the man lost his footwear while fleeing the house, because loose footwear was found after the break and enter. Staff Sgt. Mark Fentiman said the police have not been able to confirm if the shoes are the man’s or not, but added that information to the release in case it sounded familiar to someone.

Anyone with any information is asked to call police at 403-529-8481 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
