With red and white tulips in full bloom, the public is invited to a celebration May 11 to mark Canada’s 150th birthday.

Medicine Hat was selected to be one of 150 municipalities to display a 150th Celebration Garden this year, receiving 1,000 red and white tulip bulbs. These bulbs were planted Oct. 5, 2016 in a celebration ceremony.

With these tulips now in bloom, the second part of the two-part ceremony will take place May 11 at 1:30 p.m. at Robertson Memorial Park — located on the corner of Cambridge Street and Fourth Avenue SE.

The ceremony will include city officials, community groups and other dignitaries, and will mark the historical importance of this garden.
