Medicine Hat News
Who’s coming to Medicine Hat this summer? The answer, my friend, is blowin’ in the wind.
Bob Dylan, recognized as one of the most influential musicians of all time will perform at the Canalta Centre on July 18. Tickets go on sale Friday.
Canalta Centre general manager Peter Jelinski said in terms of legendary status Dylan is the biggest star to play at the building in its short history.
“When this started coming up about eight or nine months ago it was something we wanted and we realized this is perfect for the Medicine Hat market and something that would go over really, really well here So we went hard after it and we’re proud to say that with our friends at Invictus we managed to make it actually happen,” he said.
Jelinski said he’s always keeping an eye on what acts are available and shooting for the sky when booking for the Canalta Centre.
“We’re really excited to have (Dylan) here,” he said. “I’ve seen the show before and it’s a great evening out. We hope Medicine Hat gets behind it and supports it and shows that they really want this kind of entertainment here in the city.”
Dylan can count “Blowin’ in the Wind,” “Like a Rolling Stone” and “All Along the Watchtower” as some of his biggest hits.
Tickets, $56.85 and $76.85 plus services charges and GST, will go on sale March 24 at 10 a.m. at http://www.ticketmaster.ca, by phone at 1-855-985-5000 or in person at the Canalta Centre box office.
