The charming tale of Russian Grand Duchess Anastasia graces the Esplanade stage on March 10.

Canada’s Ballet Jorgen is celebrating the 100th anniversary of the story and the 10th anniversary of the production.

Equal parts tragedy and mythology, the story of Anastasia has captivate for years.

“The human drama of a young girl born to privilege and cast out into a world of immense heartache proves an extraordinarily gripping tale. This ballet explores the emotions, aspirations, and affections of this lovable yet controversial character as the world transforms around her,” reads the Esplanade website.

Ballet Jorgen has previously presented “Swan Lake,” “Sleeping Beauty” and “Cinderella” in Medicine Hat.
