Harlem Globetrotters award Money Ball to Canalta Centre

The Harlem Globetrotters were “money” at in Medicine Hat in September and the Canalta Centre has the proof.

The venue is one of 57 that set or broke an attendance record during the Globetrotters recent North American tour and will receive a red, white and blue Money Ball from the Globetrotters. The Canalta Centre and 44 other venues, including the Scotiabank Saddledome in Calgary and Kelowna’s Prospera Place, that broke a Globetrotters record for the first time, or that broke a previous record.

“We are honoured to be one of the venues recognized for this fun, family event,” says Kelli Ireland, director of marketing and sales, Canalta Centre. “We look forward to more successful events like this and happily welcome the Harlem Globetrotters back to Medicine Hat in hopes for another record breaking performance.”

Grande Prairie’s Revolution place is among a select few venues on the continent will receive a pink Money Ball for breaking a box office record for the second straight year. The Hershey Centre in Mississauga, Ont., will receive a Warrior Money Ball as the venue with the longest running box office record streak.
