Skateboard stars in city today

Four of the world’s best skateboarders will be in Medicine Hat today for a demo at the Kinsmen Skate Plaza.

Hosted by the Medicine Hat Skateboard Association and The Summit Centre, the demonstration features three professionals and one amateur skateboarder from the Zero Skateboard Team [https://zeroskateboards.com]

The skaters are Jamie Thomas, Tommy Sandoval, Chris Wimer and JS Lapierre.A Medicine Hat Skateboard Association representative said “these are some of the biggest names in the skateboard industry internationally.”

The demo will take place from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. It will be followed by a free barbecue and a chance to meet the pros at the Boarding House from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.The public is invited to be part of these events.

“This is a huge deal to have skaters of this calibre coming to Medicine Hat,” said Wasey Mowat, of the local skateboard association. “The local skateboard community is excited to have some of the best and most well known skateboarders in the world coming to our city.”
